Dead balls in the straight pool stack!

The idea of shots off the pack I think are different than dead ball shots out of the pack. Dead balls are just that dead. Just hit them and they go. The shots you describe are shots that still have a high percentage of miss to them. I have practiced them and found on my table I'm about 40% on...

    What changed your game?

I was asked to sub in a straight pool league. That game changed how I look at each shot and each shots position. Andy

Addding snooker or billiard table which one?

I would add a snooker table 10' or 12' depending on room size. A great game and the ability to have a golf game going. Andy

Question for the hard tip fans

I have been using Talisman H (domed) for about 8 years on several cues. They give great feel and last me about 8 months on my everyday player. Very consistent. (They will delaminate if you use a tip pik on them) Andy

2014 AZ Billiards Straight Pool Challenge!

Please help me Identify these cues

Thanks for the info on the Slade cue. Is the Meucci a 4-84, its hard to tell from the picture online. I know that values are subjective but I'm looking for a ball park for my insurance. Andy

Please help me Identify these cues

The first one is unknown (to me) the second is a 4-84 Meucci (I think) both roll with no wobble. The unknown cue has two shafts 12.5 and 13mm both shafts are 29 1/16" its butt is 29". There is a difference in the two shafts trim ring. The Meucci has a 12mm tip and is 28 9/16" its butt is...

    St. Valentine's day 62

Sparkle84, It didn't seem critical in a negative way, but a critique, and well thought out. There is some very good advise in your response, thank you for taking the time to respond. Watching the video, after yours and others comments, I see things I should have done differently. Your insight...

    St. Valentine's day 62

Dan, Thanks for your well thought out response. I did not like the cut on the five, It fit but not by much. I considered the 2-9-1 to start but the combo on the bottom rail laid real well from where I was. I don't like leaving two balls on the rail as a loose rule. Your suggestion of starting...

Looking for hints, tips and/or suggestions. This was more like a 42 and a 20 with a circus shot in between. Still a 62. All comments welcome. Should I keep the camera at the end of the table or move it to the side for better coverage? Thanks in advance. YouTube Link...

    New Membership Exclusivity

So I'm guessing that this new members only area will be advertising free. I have spent several thousand dollars with the advertisers on this site over the years. This is how I support the site. I just don't see the value of a members only area. Andy
