exactly, and anyone who can string 3-4's or even steady 2's without a spot will rob Walden or anyone else with the 5-9 and breaks on a bar table, unless there is a gaff like a funnt breaking table or bad racks or etc.
sorry but 5,6,7,8,9 and the break on a bar table?
anyone who can play a little bit and doesn't scratch on the break will beat any player in the world at this game.
a good breaker might win this game without ever shooting a shot after the break.
kangaroo skin and Cocobolo.i knew i should have cored that piece of Cocobolo, but i like the Cocobolo hit so much i didn't and it warped.it is my player now, when and if i ever play.
looks like Goncalo into Macassar and you are right that combination is sweet.i am taking nots on Kenny's work right now.
i have never seen that combo and i really like it.
brand new cue, test hit by me only.the forearm and butt are Cooktown Ironwood, which is a rare wood from Australia that is at 19% moisture in the ground.search about the tree and it is very interesting.it is very hard, dense and heavy wood.
the handle is 4-5A Quilted Maple with very nice motion...
ya,that's not really a bad price considering the size of them and being check free.i would love to find some like that at that price.
i am hoping when i cut into my log it won't be full of checks, but my guess would that it is.
i used to have one exactly like that but points were Ebony.nothing beats and ivory jointed Szam imo.it was one of the best playing cues i have ever played with.
some of it is pretty brittle and soft and i am not crazy about using it for big pieces in cues, but i think it is OK as a handle when cored big, like .875".i would probably pass on it as a forearm cored or not.
i would say price and ability to find large pieces without checks.
i would hate to see the price on a nice 18" piece of that stuff.
i have a couple of logs i bought, but i have no idea what i will get out of when i get into it.
i have a cheap 4x8 that is vinyl.i bought it on Ebay and never used it.there is a little dry glue in the tubes up yop that is OK for an older cue,but i bought it for my cues and i am scared that the glue might scratch new finish since it is a little soft.
it may be completely fine for any...
