The splicing, is the joining of the handle & the forearm. As far as I'm concerned the "points" are simply glued into the slots formed by either the "V" cutter or the "flat bottomed" cutter. I don't think the term "spliced" has anything to do with the assembly of the points...JER P.S. I have...

I press the wrap, then sand & press it a 2nd time. Then I use ELMERS white glue for my 1st coat, then put my final coats over that...JER

On the joint end of the shaft & on the butt cap, under the rubber bumper is a number. Let's say it is 86-1-12. The cue was made in 1986. January & this is the 12th cue made that month...JER
