    Bca 9 ball rule question

Might depend on the specific rules being used, but yes in most cases I would agree that it at least should be sufficient. There are always going to be nits out there trying to get credit for a rule technicality win that they just don't deserve.

    Foul..........Poor Form..........Genius Move?

I think it has a lot to do with your evaluation of your opponents abilities and how they go about playing pool. There's a lot of people I would use this tactic on and a lot that I wouldn't as I know it would backfire on me!!

Pool table in a small room

I have been to a few homes of experienced players that had little room for a pool table so just pushed it up against a wall one way or the other. If you want to hit balls enough, it will work! It does require a ball return. You can get very good at banking balls.

Layer tip installed wrong way... Any difference?

If anyone asks for a spot from you tell them you will spot them by using a cue with an upside down tip.

    They are rolling bad when....

When you are playing on an 8ft Valley table and you shoot a draw shot on a ball that is going directly into a side pocket. The object ball disappears in the pocket then come right back onto the table. Arrggh! When in a local 9 ball tournament I am on an easy three ball out. I am down on the...

    Personal record achieved 9 ball

Best I ever did was running 3 games in a row from the break. 9 ball, then 8 ball, then 9 ball again. I was playing more at that time then ever before or after. Other than that one time, it was just an occasional table run maybe from the break maybe not.

Billy Webb a.k.a Spiderweb has passed away.

Sorry to hear he has passed. I used to have to play him in a couple local tournaments here in Seattle back in the late 80s and early 90s when I was playing a lot. He always had some good funny stories to tell and I never saw him in a bad or irritable mood. He was quite a character!

💡The BEST pool advice I've ever received was...

When a friend of mine was having a difficult time at the table he would melodically sing "I talk to the balls but they don't listen, I sing to my cue but it don't care!" It used to crack me up!:)

💡The BEST pool advice I've ever received was...

Take the easy shots to get to the hard shots to make the hard shots easy.

    What would you do here?

C is the simplest way to go. If for some reason you blow the shape on C, you could easily end up with a good shot at D, B, or A.

Would This Cue Flaw Bother You?

If I really liked they way it hit, I wouldn't care.

What the F is going on here?

Of course bar pool is easier. Bar owners want your money as fast as they can get it. Small tables and garbage cans for pockets make for fast games of pool that anyone can play. LOTS of quarters going in those tables every day is what bar owners want not guys playing seemingly endless games of...

Anyone else have a "Most Embarrassing" at the pool hall?

Many embarrassing moments in pool that will haunt me forever but these are the top memorable moments! 1. More sad than embarrassing. Double elimination Vegas 8 ball tournament. 1st match lose coin flip opponent makes an 8 ball beak. 2nd match lose coin flip and opponent breaks and runs out on...

Cheating a coin chute? Is this possible?

I have known it to happen in a somewhat worn mechanism when tables were only 25 cents. You would put in the first quarter and drop the balls. Then bring the coin insert back about half way and stuff a piece of folded matchbook cover between the coin slider and the part underneath it to hold it...

What do I do with these pool cues?

Sneak them into a tavern, hang them up on their cue racks, then run out the door! But really they are not that easy to get rid of other than giving them to a thrift shop. I had a bunch like those and it took quite a while to sell them as a bunch for very little money on Craigslist and I had...

    Weight bolt question

Hmmm...I would try a few things that would not keep me from removing it in the future if I wanted to. So nothing from the glue-like arena. I would try some candle wax on the threads of the bolt and see how that goes. Maybe some plumbers tape might work. Something that will help fill in the...

    Playing Glasses

There are some threads about billiard glasses if you search for them. I read all of them before deciding on Spex4less. Here is a review I wrote from one of those threads. My problem with sight is that since I was about 50 years old I started needing bifocal or reading glasses. Other than that my...

Things I Wish I'd Known Before I Started Playing Pool

It takes over all of your free time. Anything you want to get particularly good at will. Even when you're on a team, you're still on your own. Yup, it's not like some other team sports. It's a very alpha-oriented sport Sometimes it's an a** oriented sport too! It can be extremely expensive. It...
