    Small shaft diameter?

If that is the case why Do snooker cues have a brass ferrule instead of a much lighter material for less squirt?

    Linen vs Leather Wrap

I can second the suggestion of Steve Lomax for wraps. He put a leather wrap on one of my cues and I love it.

    Linen vs Leather Wrap

Try giving it a coat of wax to slick it up and/ or use leather polish on it. I love leather for wraps. Lizard is also very good.

    Pool has a "FATAL FLAW"

Technically in baseball, the first team to bat could keep hitting fair balls and getting on base till the end of time and if they don't get 3 outs they keep hitting don't they?

Bought new shaft, playing cue needs mntce - No other butt for league

You might consider just playing off the wall with a house cue until your cue comes back. Our local SEARS carries the Lucky pool cue brand by McDermott, they may have the same joint pins are around the $40-$50 price point. Then when your butt gets back home you will have a cheap cue to break...

    opinions needed on GC III

I agree with what Eric has said above. I realize that some people never buy what they want and only buy what they can resale for the highest profit. However, if you are buying a pool table to keep, you should in my opinion, take into consideration the following. What do you prefer to play...

    Design Contest - fast&loose designs

I would like a Rook Piece in simulated Stone design to hold the Predator chalk. This would look sharp in silver with black outlines for the stone blocks. If it could hold a square piece that would be cool also. I drew it with the Predator chalk in mind. Note the little hole below the chalk...

Bad bar tables make me want to quit pool

Old pool hall saying: Hmm if the "bad" player is winning 50% of the time, the person that thinks they are the "good" player is fooling themselves.

    Brunswick goes rogue!

Not all of their tables are cheaply built. There are two different lines of tables one is focused on the budget market and one on the higher end market. If you're ever in Atlanta, let me know and you can take a look at mine and see if you find any particle board.

Low deflection cues for a beginner?

It really is up to you. The LD shaft may make it easier for you to compensate your aim when you use sidespin. Just remember this, you can't buy a stroke and no matter what you choose, you're going to have to put in the work to become a good player. You might also consider getting a few...

Issues with pause in back stroke

I believe when many of us are using the term "pause" we are referring to the moment the cue stops going backwards. The time it stays there will vary from very short (some may say unnoticable, to a few seconds). My pause is fairly short and may not be noticable I bring the cue back somewhat...
