Question for Dr. Dave on cue weight

I'm wondering why the BCA has a 25-oz. limit on the weight of pool cues. Do you think a cue that is heavier than 25 ounces can possibly give a player some sort of unfair advantage? Roger

Artistic Pool Players: Staging a revolt?

I've known Tom Rossman as a player, performer, and friend since 1992, and there's one thing I know for sure: a more honest and dedicated man in pool does not exist. If it were not for Tom's efforts, I don't think artistic pool would ever have grown to the extent that it has. Tom and his era of...

    From AZB Home Page

Don't feel all alone, Stu. I dogged it in my article. I said the USA hasn't won the Mosconi Cup in seven years, and it has only been five. Ricky Bryant caught me on that one. :embarrassed2: If something doesn't change soon, however, it could easily end up being seven years...or longer. Roger

Could you be thinking of Ram tips?

    3C in Phx ?

Azazello, The guys who used to play at the Lucky Cue now play at Bull Shooters. Probably the best of that bunch is Francisco. He likes to play, so stop on by and pay him a visit. Roger

Corey Deuel with Meucci cues now

I just purchased four Meucci TT series cues to put in my pro shop for resale. I bought them because of their unique designs and moderate resale price range ($300-$600). Upon delivery, I checked each cue for straightness and overall quality. Each is very straight, but there might be a minute...

    Genuine Concern Over AzB

I think your suspicion might be correct, Brian. I don't come on here very often anymore. I had a little free time this morning, so just out of curiosity I logged on and found this thread first thing. But normally, my time is spent on Facebook these days. I fought the FB thing for a long...

    I never thought I would..........

I think it would be a good idea, Joey. If it starts, I just hope it isn't taken over by one or two "Master" minds who think they have all the answers on the mental game. Or by spammers who will tell you the answers are available on their dvd's or in their lessons...all you have to do is pay for...

    Worst table install ever?

Billiard retail stores are usually not the best places to go to find good table mechanics. Maybe you should contact a couple of the best pool rooms in your area and ask them who services their tables. They would probably be much more helpful in steering you in the right direction. Roger

    Dale teague new cue

Who are the nicest and most friendly pro pool players in the US?

At one time or another, I think I've met and interacted with most the players mentioned in this thread, and in my opinion, Tommy Kennedy is a standout in this department. Roger

THIS is what is wrong with pool these days!

I think Floppage is onto something. Other than legitimate physical impairments and/or money and time constraints, what is it that keeps many people out of the gym, or off the golf course, or away from many other social activities? I think it's the fear of failure and embarrassment. If they...

Atilla wins Mezz West State Tour Stop #9!

The final match in this tournament was the greatest thing in pool that I've seen in a very long time. After Scott Frost was relegated to a 3rd place finish, all pressure and tension seemed to vanish. It was as if Atilla and Vilmos didn't care which ended up in first place; they just relaxed and...

How straight does a cue have to be?

When you set your bridge hand down for a shot, you do it so that the tip will contact the desired spot on the cue ball. If you have a good straight stroke, you will be pulling the cue straight back and then propelling it straight forward again. The bridge hand is the guide, and the tip has to...

Oscar, Deriree and the Mezz West State Tour

A few minutes ago, I was having some fun over on Facebook with one of the players about how Desiree pronounced some of the players' names during the tournament table assignments this past weekend, and then I see where I spelled her name "Deriree" here. Not only once, but TWICE! I made it sound...

Oscar, Deriree and the Mezz West State Tour

Oscar Dominguez and Deriree Rivera brought their Mezz West State Tour to Bull Shooters in Phoenix over this past weekend, and I've got to say I've never been more impressed. With solid sponsorship support from Mezz Cues and West State Billiard Supply, Oscar and Desiree have developed something...
