    Cue Tapers

I'd also add in that the conical taper is also very common for house cues. Brian

Why is the APA so frowned upon?

Too bad Eddie Little has quit pool for poker, he's an APA person I'd put money on! Also, I'd love to see some of these people try to think they have an easy money game against Mark Currie or Loco because they play APA in Charlotte :) Muhahahahahhaha!

Why is the APA so frowned upon?

That is really a NC thing. The pool halls fight for the alcohol money the APA players bring in that they give away the table time. Here in MN, we pay $30/night for green fees per team. Each team also has their own table and we split matches from the get go. We're done around 9:30-10pm and have...

Question about Video Taping for Pool

You're much better off getting a $100 digital camera like the Flip or one from Aiptek. They will do 720p/1080p video and easy to move to the computer. I have one like this (http://www.amazon.com/Aiptek-1080P-Definition-Camcorder-Silver/dp/B0019BPTMI/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1296438045&sr=8-6)...

Shafts have a 5 year life expectancy and are disposable. Right?

I'll pipe in as the McDermott lifetime warranty was mentioned and I'm very familiar with it. It warranties warpage and defects. If your shaft warps, they will replace it. If the butt of the cue warps, they will replace it. If something breaks because of defect, they will replace it. It also...

Why is the APA so frowned upon?

Don't forget new BCAPL rules gives ball in hand if you scratch while shooting the 8 (as long as you don't also put the 8 in on the same shot). Brian

    Sad news for Indiana,

Sounds like someone put too much money into opening the joint and drastically underestimated what their monthly income would be. When a joint closes less than a year after opening it's 99% of the time due to poor business sense. Brian

The inevitable result of "excessive skill" in a handicapped league

ACS used to be big in Minneapolis, now it's basically dead here. It isn't helping things that ACS has scheduled their 2011 Nationals to overlap with the BCAPL Nationals... Brian

What's the rule when no 3 ball foul, and both players refuse to shoot?

As Celtic said, in most cases, the game is a draw and you replay it.

Thinking about having a cue refinished...

Also, does anyone happen to know anything about National cues? I'm 99.9% sure it was made in Asia. Biggest question is, were they actually designed by them? Or was it one of the shops that churns out lots of cues and they just stuck their logo on it?

Minnesota Sourced Foods for Cue Design

Did you find this list yet? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Minnesota_trees You should definitely have some agate inlays! Even better if you find them yourself along the shore of Superior! :)

Some pictures from the Charlotte APA Cities

Minneapolis to Charlotte is a bit of a drive to go to Cities :) I have a few friends playing in the 8BE Cities today as well. Have my fingers crossed that Cindy/John's team from the Green Room win it again! Brian

Some pictures from the Charlotte APA Cities

I'll also add in that winning a team championship in the Charlotte APA Cities is a big deal given the quality of people who play APA there! I know of several BCAPL Grand Master/Master players who play APA in Charlotte and their teams are always really stout!

Some pictures from the Charlotte APA Cities

Damn you! I am so missing Charlotte right now!!!! Seeing all my friends facebook status's about going to Cities is so depressing! I should be there! And KT who runs the Charlotte APA does an amazing job! The way the APA is run in Charlotte is the model of how EVERY pool league in this country...

Thinking about having a cue refinished...

I'm thinking about having an old cue of mine refinished, and I'm curious if it is worth it. Not from a monetary point of view, but from an aesthetics point of view. I know the cue is worth very little as it's an old National cue from around 1989 or so. But it has sentimental value to me as it...

    Where is my que???

Gotta love these glowing reviews of Meucci... All I can say is I've had stellar luck with sending cues to McDermott for warranty and repair work. Quick turn around and lots of quick communication from Jayme Cernicka who is their customer service manager. I know that doesn't help with your...

FATBOY - Question for you only. No one else read this!!!

It did when I lived in Charlotte, NC as well. We can't get it here in MN... So I have to make do with Leininkugels. It's a good lager, but not as good as Yuengling...

You have obviously never driven in Miami, DC, Philly, Chicago or NYC :) Minneapolis drivers are great in comparison :)
