Thanks for the compliment. The light is 4X8 feet. An uncut 4X8 sheet of 1/4 inch masonite serves as the top cover. The wood is poplar, but I don't recall what stain I used. I tried to match the table as best I could. The sides are 1X6, with 2X2s at the corners. The bottom trim and grid frames...

I sat and watched JA shoot the 14.1 Challenge in Vegas last week. His pace of play was not at all slow. It wasn't rapid-fire, but it wasn't painful, either. He had a nice pace. Only once or twice did I even see him brush the cloth with his hand.

Awesome room. Good call on keeping the table original. It has character. I like the overall eclectic style, but a couple details I particularly like are the floor (are you going to put down any area rugs?) and the door hardware.

Simply . . . Outstanding.

Take a look at my avatar. You'll see the 4X8' light I made, over my 9' table. Although my wife might disagree, I don't think it looks out of place at all. If you go with the 3X6' design, I think your alternating/overlapping bulb idea would work just fine.
