Blue and Green Veneered Ivory inlaid Tascarella

I finally chased this cue down awhile ago and bought it and never took pics of it soooooooo here it is...........

Its UNCHALKED and has to be one of the straightest cues I have EVER seen, meaning there is nothing in terms of "taper roll" or any variations what so ever. 2 13mm shafts nice tight grain....19.5 ozs and a SWEEEET feeling linen wrap.

Anyway here are the pics...........

I'm confused by this...is it unusual for you to see a cue with "nothing in terms of 'taper roll' or an variations..."? I have three cues with multiple shafts with no discernable roll of ANY kind, even in a lathe, two of them are over 20 years old and well-used. A $2500 plus cue shouldn't be expected to have any roll ever unless it's mistreated, no? Beautiful cue, BTW...I love the color combination.

I haave owned A LOT of cues and nearly all of them have some discernable movement somewhere in my opinion only.....Now I am talking in some cases very very very very slight movement, but its there. This cue does not have ANY of that....And let me be very clear "slight movement" or what I am talking about is not necessarily bad nor does it mean the cue is not straight, it just means I can see something:grin:

In summary, its my opinion, its not bad or means the cue is not straight and I have been drinking:eek:

That's one sweet cue! Really like the veneers and Bushka style inlays. I also love linen, even more so when it's put on and pressed as well as a master like Pete can do it. That's a cue that wouldn't stay un-chalked for long if it were mine:cool:

Good shooting to you.

Kevin

That's a beauty of a cue, but you have more nerve than I do, laying it on the railing of your deck like that.

Sweet looking Tasc you have there lawman. I never get tried of seeing Tascarella cue pics. Congrats to ya sir.

Blue and Green

Great looking cue. There was one similar floating around the Louisville area I saw several months ago. I love the veneers on the last few Tascarellas I have seen with the blues and greens. Thanks for sharing.

Have to disagree with this, unfortunately. Truly straight cues are rare! If you're lucky enough to come across one, keep it! I have a simple rule when it comes to matters of straightness, butt and shaft taper roll: since I can no longer claim the sharp-sightedness of e.g. some of the eagle-eyed young guns I'm teaching, if I can see a taper roll, there is a taper roll. And there almost always is. Nothing to do with price category, surprisingly - since I happen to agree with you there at heart that I find it off-putting that so many costly custom cues are visibly not straight, and not because of mistreatment either - checked upon arrival, straight out of the box.

Beautiful Tasc, by the way, love the veneers and classic inlays!

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

First I have to say Great Cue but get it off your deck:)And it is true about straight cues.I own a Varney that even if its put together, there isn't a hair of a roll which is rare in my eyes.I think there might be an acceptable rollout, but it better be awful small.Glad you found a perfect one.

Thanks for all the comments guys....The deck is "bowed" there so it has a nice little pocket to sit on:eek:

This thing is perfect fo reallllllz
