The point is that he's been shooting those shots with his head in the wrong position. A slight move left or right gives him a more accurate view of the shot. Understanding this should help his game with practice.

IMO, you need to exercise and strengthen the back and abdomen. They work together to keep the body upright and the spine aligned correctly. A light workout a few times a week will strengthen the core and loosen up the muscle groups that are probably too weak to do their jobs.
I work out a...
That's how I usually play it, except for giving them a side pocket.
I'd rather not play no same last pocket. The reason is, if you're both on the 8 ball and have the same last pocket, you can't just roll up to your pocket and leave it in front of your hole. You make the shot or leave it for...
The SAMBA system is simpler and more of a point and shoot method. Ekkes does a really thorough job of explaining everything that goes into your shot (not just with SAMBA), but with all the parts of your aiming approach.
He teaches from the ground up and has some pretty sage instruction going...
Yes, I've found that exchange on certain shots to work with TOI.
You can also use any aiming system, find your correct alignment, than get down on the shot with TOI. Or pivot slightly inside or outside after you find the shot line.

It's how all the visual systems work. Especially stick/ferrule aiming. The illusion is not so obvious unless you know where to look. At least you didn't use the word "nonsense".
Have a couple more hot toddies and explain why it's redonculous. In fact, Ekkes diagrams the overcut in his SAMBA...
CTE already has an overcut built into it. The small CB deflection of TOI for the overcut may have to be adjusted, but the principle of how the CB reacts after the hit is doable.
Lots of possibilities, here. Post your results!

Thanks, I need all the power I can get!
The effects of learning these "systems" is cumulative. As a student of the game, each system starts to overlap with the others. I find it easier, the more systems you investigate, the next one makes more sense.
I've narrowed them all down to...
I'm still working on it. There's a bunch of info besides the system.
Ekkes touches all bases during his explanation of his method. He even explains simply how the dominant eye works for cuts left and right, and no, you aren't doing it right.
He gives a physical description for...
The answer is to learn to jump a ball with your playing cue. I only use a jump cue if there's a ball about a foot away. They're easier to jump with, but I think a good player should be able to jump a ball full cue. A little practice and anybody should be able to do it.

Mike
Ray,
Keith was great, too. Several of my pool buddies had bit parts in the movie. My ex was in there, but got left on the cutting room floor. I was in the service at the time out of state or I might have gotten a bit part, too.
I own the movie and watch it from time to time. It brings back a...
Dave,
My home table is a 9' Brunswick Centurion probably from the 80s. I've added Black Diamond rails and Simonis tournament blue 860 HR cloth.
The rails played short for a couple of years, but after a lot of rail testing they seem to have opened up a few degrees.
My numbers were-
9'-1.00...
