ISO Old Fashioned Pool Rooms In Florida

Starcade Billiards in Ft. Walton Beach is right on the gulf. It has a bangers bar table section, and a completely separate room full of Gold Crowns. Weekly tournaments and a great selection of cues. Great people and a great room.

    Nick Varner on TAR?

Some of you guys obviously have never seen Nick play 1 pocket. While he can compete with the best of them at the game, it is almost painful to watch. Case in point....I watched him and Buddy play a 3 out of 5 match at the River City Open...THE FIRST DAY...they played 2 games. Buddy commented...

Looking for an old (1970's) McDermott bumper

The early cues up to the C models used a paper based fiber. It was a strong material, but would swell up or seperate from the shaft face when exposed to high heat or water. Huebler cues used the same material, but with a linen base, and did not have the same problems. The colored bumpers only...

    shopping venue

I have a standard speech that I give all my buyers that step into my pro shop. A lot of them are just window shopping for a cue, comparing prices with what they see online and checking out my vast selection. I tell them that a cue is a very personal purchase, and DO NOT BUY ANYTHING THAT YOU...

    Cue ID please

The cue is a model B-16, the top of the line in the B series. Retail ran from 225 to 250. It also has an optional steel joint collar which was available for an additional charge. The standard models had a white joint collar.

How much does your playing cue weigh?

I use 20.5 for 9 ball, and 21 for straights and one hole. We did some surveys ages ago, with large numbers of players on site, including some pros and just under pro speed players. After compiling some data, and inspecting some of the cues, many players just thought they knew the weight of...

    Boriz Cue Questions

I recently noticed one of our regulars playing with a new cue, his wife bought for him, and it was a Boriz. The cue was fine for about a week, then he brought it into the pro shop with a ferrule that had snapped off. It only had a dowel that was at the most a quarter of an inch long, with a...

    Length of hustle

With some customers, 5-10 minutes. And with real customers that could play a little, 5-10 years. Many have gone to their grave thinking they could win.

    Morri tips - Hardness indicator

No, it is not true. Just another myth pervading the billiard world. If you can't get it, it has to be better, or, all the older stuff is better than the new stuff. Wait, maybe they do play different, I haven't had one of the old tips in almost a decade, but am very happy with the new Morris.

Perry Fisher Review of my dvd series

Perry shoots from the hip and holds no punches. It was my fault that he took up the addiction of this sport, and we have traveled thousands of miles together, him sopping up all the action, personalities, and industry that pervade our souls. He wrote many articles for Conrad Burkman of the...

    McDermott $150000.00 cue

It was a fantasy art cue that Jim saw penciled on one of Roy Nehs design sheets. Roy was an artist that worked at McD's in various roles from ad copy to cue designs. I have hit some balls with it, and it has drawn blood.

    U.J. Puckett's cue ?

In one of the series of Legends shows, U.J. showed up on the east coast without his cue. He borrowed a cue from RandyG if I remember correctly. Might have been a Palmer that Randy was toting around.
