I played a guy once who was new in town for some cheap sets in a game that was way out of line for him. He was arrogant, loud, and cocky and offered me the 7. I took it, lost a few sets on purpose, and quit after about an hour. A buddy of mine was watching and pulled me off to the side afterwards and asked me, "What the hell are you doing? He's going to talk to people and find out about you and you're never going to get your money back. You realize that, right?" I told him I had a feeling he was wrong. The next time I saw the guy I got the 7 out and won. Over the next few months the guy and I played every time we saw one another and I never let him beat me again. Each time the bet got a little bigger and he gave less weight to the point where I was playing to my potential, giving him the 7, and betting decent money. I guess that's not really a hustle though...maybe just a stupid move on my part but he kept coming back for whatever reason.
