Made in USA: SHANE VAN BOENING, 2012 U.S. OPEN 9-BALL CHAMPION

Oh, let's get serious. Shane fired his way through a bunch of 'short people' with little bitty arms and girlie-man breaks.:grin-square:

    Appleton/Lee Brett Issues

Darren was feeling fiesty. Before the last match started he called a loud mouthed drunken Alex Pagulayuan "stupid". He must be prepping for a rematch with Rodney . Is it my imagination or is Mike Davis bulking up:eek:? He could probably pick up Darren and throw him back across the...

    Us Open Updates....

I guess this is as good a place as any to interject what Earl was harping about during his final match. Earl SERIOUSLY wants to remove the side pockets from the game of 9 ball. He said it makes the game to easy. Earl is so wacky I really feel sorry for him - I mean the guy is out of his mind...

    SVB quote.....

Just to say one thing about Shane's hearing. During his match with Orcullo, the fans in the CCB section were talking so loud while Shane was shooting that Shane had to turn around to them and say: "Guys, I can hear you." How disrespective is that?!!! Not to mention all of the other loudmouth...

How many of you think someone in the final 4 of the US Open would dump?

I personally think Efren has been dumping for years.

    Us Open Updates....

I saw Shuff take about 10 minutes to examine a shot (I couldn't figure out what to do with it either, so I must be stupid a little:)). Sometimes I think Brandon is just plain stupid - he took way too long. But in the match against Ralph, Brandon made a very very difficult lenth of the table...

    Us Open Updates....

My a$$. Chris Melling was on fire and was up 4-2 on Shane, and let me tell you Chris can shoot. Then Shane calmly caught fire and whipped Melling 11-4. You don't see many players playing as well as Shane did. Running rack after rack - Chris just sat in his chair. When he got up to shoot he...

Who is the favorite to with the US Open from here?

Raj Hundal is not playing near as strong as the others mentioned above. It just ain't gonna happen for him, and probably never will.

Who is the favorite to with the US Open from here?

I am here at the USO. Shane is so hot he is practically unstoppable and he hardly misses or gets out of line - plus you have his fantastic break. He really has the cueball on a string right now. A thing of beauty to watch. Melling was ahead 4-2 and I think this was after he ran something...

    Anybody tried pine tar?

True, but not all of us have quality pool cues. My Scruggs and Capone cues never come loose. It's my playing cue (Sceptre) that gets loose. Now it is perfect.

    Anybody tried pine tar?

Exactly. It is hard to put too much on the face of the joint since you would have to have a butter knife and a tendency for overdoing things.

    Anybody tried pine tar?

Predator Sneaky Pete with uni-loc quick release joint. Always comes loose.

    Anybody tried pine tar?

Do you have a cue that keeps coming loose at the joint during play? At Sports Authority I bought a stick of pine tar in a tube for less than $10. It is used for baseball bats in case you want to get some for yourself. It works great. Just thought I would share this with you.

Thanks for the answer. 'the US' would be the fans in the US. So, when Matchroom Sports chose Charlie Williams as our coach, this was because they were far more aware than 99% of the posters on the AZ Forum? If they were so smart they should have chosen Earl as coach (having nothing against...

What's Good About A Good Stroke?

Yes yes yes. Notice how he puts draw on the ball - hitting just below center and hitting DOWN through the shot with his tip ending up on the felt. Patrick, please take note by actually watching the video.

What's Good About A Good Stroke?

And my point is, or should be, that if you have never tried Mike's draw method then you should not be making comments here and expect to get any respect. And I dare say that most pros don't use the 'low and level' for drawing the ball, but that is just my opinion. Of course I am up for...

What's Good About A Good Stroke?

Have you ever watched him play and actually looked at how he draws the ball? I can answer that: NO. Or maybe you are just oblivious and are talking through your hat. I did take a lesson from him and he taught me the way he draws the ball. And for the rest of you naysayers, maybe you should...

Just curious. What is Matchroom Sport and what is the process by which they nominated the US Captain of the Mosconi Cup? I suspect that Matchroom is a European sports organization which runs the Mosconi Cup. I think having CJ is good, but suppose the US wanted another person as captain...
