My a$$. Chris Melling was on fire and was up 4-2 on Shane, and let me tell you Chris can shoot. Then Shane calmly caught fire and whipped Melling 11-4. You don't see many players playing as well as Shane did. Running rack after rack - Chris just sat in his chair. When he got up to shoot he was locked out. Shane was playing just awesome. He is just a break and run machine.

I saw Shuff take about 10 minutes to examine a shot (I couldn't figure out what to do with it either, so I must be stupid a little:)). Sometimes I think Brandon is just plain stupid - he took way too long. But in the match against Ralph, Brandon made a very very difficult lenth of the table 85% cut shot for the victory. Kudos to Shuff for making this winning shot.

I agree. The old saying goes, "the person sitting in the chair cannot hurt you." And that's exactly where Shane is parking his opponents.

You can be the no-miss IBM pool-shooting supercomputer, and you'd be absolutely helpless if you never get to the table in the first place.

Last night was a tough one for former champions....

We lost Kennedy, Souquet and Mika..... Still somehow, we have 4 former open champs on A-side out of final 8....

Efren
Alex
Archer
SVB


and 3 on the B-side out of final 16...

Earl
Daz
Deuel

So that's 7 of the 24 players left that have already lifted the title....

Which former champ has best chance to repeat from here???

Bummer Strickland got dropped over on B side to face Daz... Wanted to see both of them go deep.... Now one of them must go home... Should be an amazing B side match...

Anyone see Strickland/Parica stream??? Score was pretty lopsided... Jose put him in a coma in his chair or did Earl get his chances???
 
Bracket Challenge...

Well we're down to 24 at this point.... Would be really cool if AZ would let us all do open brackets like ncaa brackets one year.... A Us Open challenge similar to the Turning Stone action challenge... This would be alot tougher than ncaa brackets though with double elimination coming into play... Would help generate interest, etc...

I stared reading this thread last night after work ( I didn't cheat by looking
at the brackets ) and I got excited like I was watching it live...I freaked
when Efren won.

The US Open is still my favorite 9-ball tournament...don't need nothing
but your entry fee and a stroke.

That's odd. The actual website still says to be announced on all the matches.
