Article on "What's holding pool back"

If you think gambling and scandalous behavior is what holds professional pool back, you’re wrong June 21, 2016 AC Henry In the 1920s, Ralf Greenleaf and Willie Hoppe Dominated pool and billiards and rivaled Babe Ruth for sports page headlines. People filled arenas to watch them play and...

    Question about the Predator Tour

If you're a D, I think your entry is $50, although you should definitely have a point of reference or someone who can verify your handicap. I'm not sure, but you may have to play as a higher skill level if you can't be verified.

    Question about the Predator Tour

Just show up on Saturday, I'd say somewhere around 10:30-11am. It's on a first come, first serve basis. It would help to have some sort of established handicap to reference, so you're placed into the right bracket. Registration is $35, on top of your entry fee which is determined by your skill...

Is pool the most difficult sport for an Amateur to turn Pro?

Been doing some reading and just got curious. I just read some statistic that 20% of amateur boxers turn pro. I know the number for Pool players is way lower, just curious how low it actually is.

Bar Rules Like Wildfire Part 28

I usually ask what the house rules are before I play. If they say "regular 8-ball" or some crap like that, I go by WPA rules and have them ready on my phone just in case. Dick move, but we all know that we can walk into 100 different places and get 100 different rule sets. I prefer to have a...

    White Diamond vs Hammerhead

Same here, and I've had the White Diamond in the past. I'd say the White Diamond was a better jumper, but the Hammerhead reacts with the CB in such a way that breaking is effortless. You can pretty much use a normal stroke and get an incredible amount of energy into the cue ball.

Corey Deuel Controversial 10-Ball break at SBE

Corey soft breaks and people either complain, call him a genius, or both. Shane solves the 10-ball break with a pop break.... "best breaker in the world". Just another day on AZ. Maybe we should consider a running start on the break? Dennis Orcollo (Orcullo?) may have been the first person I...

Corey Deuel Controversial 10-Ball break at SBE

Let's not forget, "American Pool" means barboxes. The rest of the world plays on big tables.

    Colorado- best state for poolplayers?

Arizona is the only other state where "Pool & Billiards" shows up. I also noticed "plus-size women's clothing" in Ohio.

    best shaft for easier backspin

Back on topic, the "best shaft for easier backspin" is the one you use during those long hours of practice, putting that hard work into your game.

    best shaft for easier backspin

I love seeing people who think they can buy a better game, yet don't want to put in the hard work.

    Chinese 8 Ball - I'm not convinced

Someone is trying something new for pocket cue sports and using international stars to attract attention, banking on the already large following in that country. Whether it succeeds or fails, it's better than what we have in the states right now. The only thing I would fault the Chinese...

    Tight Pockets

I'm just fascinated that 4.25" is considered "tight" pockets. I thought that was about normal size, with the rooms that cater to the general population having 4.5" and 5" pockets.

How do I break in a everest tip?

I wouldn't even waste my time with the Everest. I've given those tips several chances and I'll never use one again. Elkmasters and Triangles are good, give Ki-Tech tips a try if you're looking for a good single-layer tip. Just make sure it's installed properly.
