    Hybrid Wrap

KJ, You might consider a Tiger stacked wrap. I just checked one of the one's I have in stock and it's between 1,25-1,3mm thick. This is the black stained one, the natural seems to be a little thinner-1,15mm. In this case you don't have much to work on so you need to be very accurate while...

Shooting Polyurethane with touch up air gun

Thanks Jerry I guess it's no point trying one of those airbrush for clear then. Polyurethane is a two component mix which for sure is not recommended to breath in... But it could be thinned out a little with a thinner so it might be that it could be blown on with a air gun. I might try this out...

Shooting Polyurethane with touch up air gun

The one pictured above is dead cheap - $60 and my brother in law is shooting color on cars with Xact this gun. Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Still not sure what to do, but I guess when Easter time comes I would check it out. Kent

Shooting Polyurethane with touch up air gun

Dave, Thanks for the tip. When I think about it - it might be just stupid to buy two guns - one to shoot for shafts and one for the whole thing. My thought was that I mix a 1/4 mix of clear using syringe which hardly would show in one of those big ones - but I it's common sense to buy one of...

Shooting Polyurethane with touch up air gun

Dave, I thought Polyurethane was known but it might be that I just think out of the box: Poly is the two component style clear used on teak and other boat stuff. It turns very clear and has a nice finish from first layer. My idea was that if I shoot this with a spray gun like attached I get a...

Shooting Polyurethane with touch up air gun

I have so far done shafts ''the manual'' way with brush and slow Rpm in my lathe. However, it has started to get a little annoying and I'm planning a paint booth setup where I'm considering shooting Polyurethane with a air gun. Now this is just on custom shafts - not cues and I was wondering...

Things to think about before giving a cue away for free.

I like helping out young and dedicated players which is on a low budget. In my end I have had several rounds with different products and some of the best players where really interested in some of the stuff - Royce products among others. One came with a high nose comment "I don't pay for my gear...

Threads in the back on a Predator P2

Thanks for the feedback. I think the cue has a plastic sleeve inside which is threaded. However I might have a look at a friends cue tomorrow and in case I would shoot some pics. Kent

Threads in the back on a Predator P2

Friends, I have a customer which want me to make some custom extension kit for his cue and I need your help: The but has a plastic insert which the rubber bumper is attached to. Since the cue is not in my hands and the owner say that the threads is damaged, I'm not able to a) get my hands on it...

    Shaft for Schon

Travis, There is no problem adapting a OB shaft to your Schon. I'm at the moment playing with the Schon in my avatar and a OB2 and it works fine. A little harder hit than what I get from my favorite cue +OB2 combo though. I did some time back ask Schon if they could adapt a OB shaft to my cue...

    Wax for shaft

Have Renaissance Wax on the shelf, has not touched it except from opening the lid and having a look. So far I have been using Chris H wax and it has been working pretty well. I think you could find a bunch of answers if you do a search ;-) K

Jim McDermott elected into Hall of Fame.

Very glad to read this, since my first "real" cue was a D1 back in those 80s. I managed to upgrade to a higher D20-odd something which would never be sold. I compare the leather grip on this to many of the newer cues-usually not even close. Quality... Good to see that the designer of my cue has...

Shaft sealers and impact on shaft

Sorry for the late reply, been on the road again.. I ended up playing the Norwegian 10 Ball championship with a old demo shaft I had lying with the stock tip. After a couple of matches I migrated to one of the cleaned ones and was pretty comfy with it. The reason I was concerned was that one...

Shaft sealers and impact on shaft

After a very busy period in my life I though I should actually treat my self and do something for my own private playing cue. Doing tips and installs to a bunch of others, my private shafts had turned fairly dirty and all 3 needed some new tips. Well, doing all the tricks in the book on all 3...

    Storage of tips.

We have discussed this earlier some time back but I thought I could post my way and then see if any one had any comments to share or other ways of doing it: I normally store my Kamui tips inside the old version boxes (tin boxes) and seal each box with electrical tap. Inside each tin box the...
