3D Pool in a weightless environment

Hi everyone! For some time I have been chatting with Lucien Fatima about the idea to create a 3D pool game that is played in a weightless environment. We are thinking about making this to a game, but it will be costly. So before doing so I'd like to know what you guys think about it. Would you...

    What's your worst luck shot?

Everyone has a bad luck shot in his 'poolcareer' that seems like yesterday because the odds of that happening where so unbelievable small. Whats yours? Mine was this year in competition. I had a really thin cut to the sidepocket, but I was pretty confident that I would make it because the 7...

The importance of keeping a table free of dust and hairs

It is compaired to the hairs and dust players remove.. But as vapoolplayer pointed out: there are other reasons to take of dust and hairs. And the MR can be removed 95% of the breaks. All true.. yet still I find it weird that we suddenly all seem agreed to this. There must have been games in...

The importance of keeping a table free of dust and hairs

Well, to be honest I like racks being a little random. Some time ago I played a guy who obviously had been training alot with a MR. He softbreaked and everytime a ball was potted and all balls where in the open. I was fotunate that he didnt run every table (still lost the match though) but a...

The importance of keeping a table free of dust and hairs

And the picking of dust can also be psychological.. it's part of the routine, gives some extra time. Yet still I find it weird that we used to be very precise about little things on the table, and we dont mind this huge thing. But I have to admit: I dont train with MR, so I dislike it to for...

The importance of keeping a table free of dust and hairs

Actually not important at all! Well it used to be important.. we saw pro's picking away dust and hairs from the table. To prevent kicks, but also not to affect rolls. Well nowadays we don't mind having a big lump of plastic on the table: the magic rack! In league play (and I saw video's on...

I feel terrible for what I did.

Ive had the honour to break with a friends new breakcue. Didnt break hard, I think at 75%, and the damn thing breaks. Luckily he witnessed it and said right away that it wasnt my fault. I felt bad, but didnt really feel like paying for a new one.. he asked me to try it, I did nothing funky, and...

    Got a pooltable at work!

I work in a treatmentcenter for people with addiction and psychological problems. Recently we had a pooltable installed so they can spend their time in a fun way. It's nothing fancy: cheap plastic balls, typical housecues and the walls and cloth are dodgy, to say the least. But Im running like...

    How far can you break?

920m seems like an awefull lot to me too. Dr Dave said it lose some distance due to friction when its sliding. On the other side: 30mph = 48km/h = 13,3 m/s So in the first second it has travelled 13m already! Ofcourse speed will decrease afterwards, but a cueball can roll for a long time.

    How far can you break?

DrDave answered the email: I tried to caculate this too, using the formule, but I get crazy results. I must be doing something wrong. In any case.. itll go much much further than we all expected!

    How far can you break?

thanks for calculating all that! Ill send the question to drDave as well. I think he'll enjoy something like this too.

    How far can you break?

that is true for a continuous speed. s = 1/2 a t^2 if I remember correctly. s = distance a = acceleration t = time but this doesnt involve friction. or is the friction within a? I know one man who would solve this in a minute: DrDave!!

    How far can you break?

I can only guess, but it feels that the first 20m the cueball is travelling at about max speed, and from there it will slow down. 80m of rolling is alot.. maybe my 100m is to much.

    How far can you break?

Thats true.. well lets say it are the US open conditions. The same hall but very long stretched, same air conditions, fresh Simonis cloth (any chalk has been taken off by chalk-off GET YOUR CH-never mind), same thickness of the slate. And we all break on that same table (although its magically...

    How far can you break?

Im serious, I wonder how far it will roll. It can probaby be calculated but I dont know the math (or the physics) to do it. My guess is that I'll make 100m.

    How far can you break?

Imagine a pooltable that is hundreds of meters long. How far do you think you can break? Breaking straight would be important here too. Every degree you're off means you'll get less far..
