    Mosconi Cup...pick your five!

This is exactly the team I would send! I just do not understand the criteria for making the cut into the final 8. I would have them play for it in more than one setting. Then pick the top performers for that pool of players.

    Mosconi Cup...pick your five!

Obviously I was unaware there was a pool of players Mark was choosing from. Leaving it up to Mark to choose sounds good to me. Was the pool this small to begin with? All this thread asks is what AZ members would want for the five chosen players It amazes me how you want to be a Donkey about...

    Mosconi Cup...pick your five!

No, but he is a very strong player that I thought someone would add to the list. I had no idea John has been talking about the Mosconi Cup. That means he must be training for the opportunity to represent!

    8 Ball question

Jay Helfert has a saying that works well in judging a shot like this. Whitey never lies. That is the cueball will tell you by its rebound angle what ball was hit first.

    Parallel Shift Banking System

Three things affect a bank shot: Contact point on the object bank, how hard you hit it, and the English applied. This system works as long as you don't apply English or hit the shot harder. Also when the object ball is close to the rail (within one to two ball lengths) it can affect the...

    Mosconi Cup...pick your five!

Okay to me the first two are gimme's...Shane Van Boening and Cory Deuel. The third would have to be Justin Bergman but the water starts getting murky after that. You have Oscar Dominguez, Sky Woodward, Brandon Shuff, Earl Strickland, Chip Compton, Joey Gray, Mike Dechaine, Johnny Archer, Alex...

    Is it possible to over-think?

I agree with you Jaden and I would like to add that Confidence is a big factor here as well. If your playing well it makes the decision making is so much easier. Thus not much time thinking about it.

    Is it possible to over-think?

Many shots in pool can be defensive in nature requiring additional thought. Sometimes you are caught between two choices and they seem equal in promise. It doesn't matter how much time you take. Walk around the table during this time and "play the movie out" in your head. That is, visualize...

    VNEA rack your own question

First use the cueball to iron the cloth. Second use a shaft to find out which balls are smaller than the others and rack them to the outside perimeter. When the balls are different sizes there is no way to get them touching with any rack. Ironing the cloth will keep all but the headball from...

    Slate

3/4...7/8...1 inch. The thinner the easier it is to transport. Two piece and three piece slate makes it even lighter than the one piece. Performance wise the 7/8 and one inch over time i would think would do you well but that's just a guess. I will let a table mechanic chime in now...
