    Durham, Nc Pool Rooms

Glad you liked it It's a very unique place. Hard to believe that the tables are level and the floor is extremely unlevel. When I was there people had their dogs inside with them. Kinda weird but they were well behaved. The shuffleboard is another throwback to the old days. That's cool...

Hard PVC Cases that will hold a Cue Case

Here's a few ideas I have a hard case that was purchased to hold my golf clubs. You could pack your cue case and clothes into one. I've done it successfully. Just remember the security is going to open it up and rearrange the contents. You may also want to check out tubular case intended...

    shoulder hurts like hell

Here's my input from a search of RSB From Jan 1999 I recently developed the exact same problem and attribute it to a week long snowstorm last month. I had to get out the snowblower every day (some days twice) for a solid week. Additionally I like to ice-fish and I use a hand auger for...

    Brunswick vs Diamond

My $.02 I have a 9' GCIII in my basement. A Diamond table could not be brought down the steps and turn the corner into the room. My GC has been down there 10 years. It plays perfect. 8 years ago one of the rails went dead. I called customer service and within a week the entire set was on...

    humidity & pool table

Between 40% and 60% RH should be OK. But you will notice that the table plays faster as the RH goes down. Below 20% RH would probably dry out the wood. I would recommend that you plumb the tank so that it empties into a floor drain. I've the same situation in my basement and have my...

    Outlining Rack

I have to tell you that a #2 pencil is not easy to remove. Make sure to get it right the first time. Additionally, make sure that you use the rack that stays with the table. For home tables that's not a problem. at the pool hall if diffrent racks are used keep the same rack at the table.

I have the exact same thing happening to my red circle ball. Here's a cut & copy from another thread here about phenolic tips I use a red circle cue ball at home and when breaking I align the circle so that it is my target point on the cueball. I've been doing this for a long time to try and...

    Taper Roll???

Hi Jer. I sent you a PM. I'm aware that you guys know GD & T. My assumption about "TAPER ROLL" is that they were trying to describe total runout.

    Taper Roll???

    Slip Stic Product ??????

I've known Pete for about 15 years and have always considered him to be honorable person and a devoted father. In business transactions he always did what was in the best interest of the customer. He was a regular at our poolhall in Rochester and all of us here wonder the same thing. Where...

    Playing with a phenolic tip

I use a red circle cue ball at home and when breaking I align the circle so that it is my target point on the cueball. I've been doing this for a long time to try and see where I'm actually striking it on my break shot. I've filled in one half of the red circle with a sharpie so I know by...

Me thinks it's the hard phenolic tip that makes it hit hard. But maybe you're right.

    Polishing Balls

I haven't noticed any difference in throw using the "Yellow Wax". You are correct about them banking differently. Initially they skid/slide more coming off the rail and bank longer. This also makes the corner pockets play eaiser for the same reason. But this dosen't last too long, maybe a...

    Best instructors in pool?

The room I go to routinely polish the balls. While these balls are clean and shiny the wax is clingy (is that a real word?). These balls throw much more than most people are used to. At this room you will also see the cue ball skid more often, particularly when using follow. It take some...
