I used to have that problem until my instructor told me I owe them my best game so when they do win they can feel good about it instead of knowing I didn't take them seriously or let up on them.

I was in Birminham last summer and had all the action I could handle at Poppa G's in Pelham, a suburb of Birmingham. Late at night on a couple of nights, road players came in and were playing $1000-$2000 sets. Lots of action and the people were really nice too!

Be sure whomever you choose that they send you away after your lesson with some paperwork reinforcing what you learned and some drills you can practice to help reinforce your lesson. Otherwise you will forget much of what was covered in the lesson and revert back to old habits.

John, I hope you will be passing on the things you learned from Bobby Hunter that helped you improve as fast as you did in your younger days. Will we be leaving with handouts or drills related to the lessons? My wife and I both play, would we both get instruction for the $1000?

I have not reached the full potential of my South West cue. I am sure many people think I play better than I do because of the cue I carry. It gives me a goal in life to someday do my cue justice.

Will be tough to take more time off for something like this. Already eat most vacation time with DCC, BCA Nationals, Reno Open & Bar Box Championships. It might be more feisable to try and do it at one of these events that a lot of us are attending anyway.

So did they send you off with anything on paper that you could refer to later? Drills? Practice tips? As a teacher by profession, I find students will forget most of what they are taught pretty quickly without something to help refresh their memory.

I now wear CROCKS when playing pool. They are by far the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn and I am a big guy, so comfortable shoes are a big deal for me. They are closed toed, so are legal in all big tournaments. I even wear them at home where I used to practice in bare feet.
