    Joss "Limited Series" cues

Greetings all. Joss is selling "limited series" cues on a couple pool supply warehouses. They're priced at $267.75 which is considerably lower than their norm. They aren't particularly attractive, but I've never played with a Joss and at that price it might be something to try. Has anyone played...

Not sure which is your favorite cue?

Does anyone else with multiple cues struggle with deciding which one you play the best with? I have cues with different butt and tip diameters, different feels, different tips, and it seems like I play pretty much the same with all of them. I have picked one and use if for competition, but any...

    Mezz Sneaky Pete review

I just got a Mezz Sneaky Pete in Purple heart. I'd never played with one before, but every single time anyone on this site mentions Mezz, it's always extremely favorable, and I've never seen a bad word about Mezz, which we can all agree is pretty unusual for any manufacturer or cue builder...

    Mezz cue advice?

I have an opportunity to buy a Mezz Sneaky Pete. I've never played with one or known anyone who owns one, but the comments I've seen here suggest most consider Mezz to be one of if not the best production cues on the market. I've contacted Mezz and they gave me their butt diameter, which is...

    Another great Pechauer cue

I've only played about 4 years and I'm still open to what kind of cue is my favorite. I thought I'd found the perfect cue for me when I started playing a Pechauer Pro series, but recently just for grins I bought a Pechauer JP series cue. They're a little less expensive because they don't use...

Pechauer Pro cue model P05-K. $295 plus shipping. No-stain figured Maple cue with Bocote wrap. Piloted pro series speed joint. Personally inspected and hand-signed by Joe Pechauer. I’ve had this cue for 2 years and it’s in excellent to like-new condition because I haven’t played it much. That’s...

Anyone else ever pull out an old cue, play great with it, and suddenly doubt which is your favorite?

I normally play with a Pechauer Pro series cue with a P+Pro LD laminated shaft, and I love it. I also recently bought a Keith Josey cue, and really like it as well. Then, just for grins I brought out a Schmelke I haven't played in a year or two and was suddenly intrigued. They're all different...

    Another favorable Schmelke review

I recently received my custom cue from a very reputable cue maker, and while I gave him several specs I forgot to specify shaft taper, and when I went to play with it I discovered this maker uses a conical vs. the more typical pro taper. It is a different look, for me anyway, and it affects how...

    Keith Josey cue review

I just got a Merry Widow cue from Keith Josey, bocote forearm and sleeve with a black handle. I normally play Pechauer and love their cues, but I thought I'd try a stick by a custom cue maker out of curiosity and in my research I never saw a bad word about Keith Josey. He normally makes, from...

Does anyone have a review on Martz cues? Tony Martzakis based in Florida. I did a search and he posts from time to time but I haven't seen any feedback from players. Thanks.

XLR8 CF shafts. Anybody play one yet?

I did a search and didn't see a thread on this topic yet. There's a guy at "DFE Billiards" selling his XLR8 CF shaft for $275. He makes them himself from blanks he buys. Has anybody tried one yet? That price is almost too good to be true, so I'm a little skeptical. Thanks for anyone who can help.

Would like some feedback on Josey cues, please

Greetings all. For those who have experience with Josey cues, I'd like some feedback before I order one. He seems to have a great reputation and lead time and prices seem very reasonable. Would you say his cue butt diameter is on the thick, medium or slender side? His standard tip is the...

    Avid shafts/cues from Cuetec?

I've never played Cuetec, heard negative things about their lower end products and wonder about the whole glass covered maple thing, but with the popularity of their Cynergy CF shafts, I'm wondering if their new Avid products are something I should try? I know it's still quite new, but anybody...

    CF shaft manufacturers?

Forgive me if this has already been covered. I did a search and couldn't find anything. My question is...we all know most major cue companies, and some smaller ones, now offer carbon fiber shafts, but who actually makes them? Predator, Meucci, Cuetec, Pechauer etc. aren't chemical companies and...

    Another great Schmelke

Another great Schmelke cue I just received a Schmelke NC-03, Cocobolo with a 12.75 shaft and a 3/8x10 joint. It's beautiful, has a flawless finish, and plays great. For $240 it's also a crazy bargain. I had one of their sneaky pete's a while back and gave it to a girlfriend, then decided I...

    Pechauer with a 314-3?

Greetings all. I did a search before asking this and couldn't find anything recent. Anyone out there using a Pechauer Pro butt with a Predator 314-3 shaft? How do you like it? How does it compare with a Pechauer P+Pro LD shaft? Worth the extra $100? Thanks for any helpful responses.

How long to pick a favorite cue?

Greetings all. I've only been playing a couple years but I've tried a number of cues and recently I've gone back and forth between 2 different cue manufacturers. They are both great cues and they feel different but I'm realizing I'm having a hard time making up my mind as to which I prefer. I...
