I am replacing the tip on a cue I bought and have a quick question. It had a leather tip and I cut that off. But there was a thin reddish Brown layer on top of the white of the ferrule. Wondering if that is part of the ferrule itself or if that is part of tip? It feels extremely hard...

Wondering if someone can shed a little light; I know you can use A with an Outside Pivot for straight in shots, but does A-outside pivot also do slight cuts? or should one default to A-Inside (left cut) for anything that is not completely straight?

Does anyone have any additional on this? Or any luck with it? Is Hal talking about aiming the CB 1/8 at Center, 1/4, and Edge? Or 1/4 CB? What is he talking about when he says? Is he talking about aligning the shot with the cue stick, then doing a parallel shift?

I am just wondering if anyone has any tips to find quarter ball (or the A/C references in CTE)? I am having trouble visualizing the precise quarter. Thanks.
