    Tyler Styer's extension

Does anyone know what brand of extension Tyler used at the UK Open? It's one of those extensions that fits over the butt, then you screw down a couple of rings. Do they mark up the butt of a cue? Why doesn't he use one of Meucci's screw in extensions? Thanks

    Source for Wizard tips?

I have a Chris Nitti cue, and I would like to replace the tip. I think he uses Wizard S (soft) tips. Does anyone know of a reputable source for Wizard tips? Thanks.

    Scammers hijacking accounts

Every so often it seems that a scammer gets ahold of a known account, then uses the account to try to sell an item that they don't own. So how do you verify that a known account is not a scammer?

Fractional aim points and their cut angles

    I'm surprised that I couldn't find this anywhere. What are the cut angles for all the main fractional aiming points: 1/8 = 61 degrees 1/4 = 49 degrees 3/8 = 39 degrees 1/2 = 30 degrees 5/8 = 22 degrees 3/4 = 15 degrees 7/8 = 7 degrees I tried using Dr. Dave's formulas here: fraction = 1...

Trivia question: Nick Varner, Max Eberle, and ???

Nick Varner won the same tournament two years in a row. Two and half decades later, Max Eberle won that same tournament two years in a row. What other azbilliard member won that tournament?

New pool room: The Crooked Cue, Colorado Springs, CO

Over Christmas, I was in Colorado Springs, CO for a couple of days, and I was surprised to find a pool room in the downtown (?) area called The Crooked Cue. It's a couple of blocks east of I25 which runs North-South through the city. The bartender said the tables were five months old: 7 x 9'...

    DigiCue Blue graph interpretation

Here is a graph of a shot: 1. What does the yellow arrow signify? 2. The Straightness (STR) is described like this: However, when I change the difficulty setting for Straightness, the (inner?) circle does not change size. 3. The tip steer metric in the image is CNTR and the result was...

What type of pin is this?

The description for this jump/break cue says: The diameter of the smooth part is 7mm, and the diameter at the threads is 9.4mm. The pin looks like it could be a Viking quick release, as shown here: https://www.pooldawg.com/article/pooldawg-library/what-s-my-joint-size I bought the cue at...

    Recut points?

I was looking at the following recent ad for a Tascarella, which says it has recut points: https://forums.azbilliards.com/threads/gorgeous-pete-tascarella-custom-cue-with-2-shafts.555348/ It was my understanding that recut points are a technique for creating veneers, which does not leave a...

    Poolology: Side Pocket Aiming

I have a couple of questions about Side Pocket Aiming: 1. When would the end rail position value of 75 ever come into play? Keep in mind that the author of Poolology has said that Poolology does not work well for 1/8 ball cuts and that Poolology isn't applicable to thinner cuts than 1/8 ball...

    Porper Shaft Polisher

This shaft burnisher is made from two pieces of suede leather sewn together with some type of cushy material in between the two pieces of leather. The resulting cushy leather sandwich makes it much easier to burnish your shaft. I also have a shaft burnisher that is a round piece of leather...

Aramith Tournament TV ball set v. Aramith Tournament Belgian ball set

Is there a way to tell from the box, which set is which? I'm looking at pictures at Seybert's and the boxes look identical. If anyone has a set of the Tournament TV balls, is there a sticker on the box that indicates that it's the TV set (the set with the pink 4-ball)? Thanks

Poolology: some Zone C shots don't work for me

I put a donut hole sticky on the 60 object ball position line in Zone C. I used a laser to mark the 60 line on the table, so I believe the sticky was exactly on the 60 line (assuming my end points for the 60 line are correct): Over a few days, I lined up many 1/4 ball cuts and 1/2 ball cuts...

Poolology: Zone A missing alignment values

Here's the table setup: The target pocket for the object balls is the top left corner pocket. First, examine the 8-ball. It has a position value of 40, and an alignment value of 40 (the bottom left corner pocket diamond). So, the overhang is 40/40, which is equivalent to 100/100, which...

    Cleaning balls: wtf happened?!

I wanted to clean a set of balls that probably hadn't been cleaned in 10 years. I didn't have any specialty pool ball polish, but I read something online that said to soak the balls in lukewarm water and add a mild detergent, like Palmolive. I happened to have some Palmolive, so I put the...

Poolology: Zone B backcut Quater Increment Scale

I'm a Poolology beginner. Here's the shot: At first, when calculating the fractional aim point I was mixing up degrees and fractional cuts, like 30/100, which is not 30 degrees! Now, I realize you should never even think the word "degrees" when you are figuring out the fractional cut. Nor...
