What is the a chatter line in wood? Is it the growth rings? Is there any truth to shooting with the line in any certain orientation?

Ever hear of Raid brand cues? It's some kind of cheap LD cue I tried out last night. The reason I ask is the cue played really well and want to find out more. I tried a cursory search and found nothing.

Yes, I drank the TOI Koolaid, lol. My stroke sometimes feels like an octopus falling out of a tree, Centerball oftentimes results with left spin, (I'm lefthanded, btw). However, with TOI the cueball reacts perfectly nearly everytime. This is just a hint of inside, no big swooping or whatnot...
