    OB cues shut down?

A few people commented to me my cue (OB pro plus) felt soft, mushy, or flimsy. I personally never had a problem with it. I don't really chase after "hit". I just like low deflection. The hollow section helped make it that way. I can tell OB got gripes about this because after they revamped the...

    OB cues shut down?

If they want to be successful, they probably should just buy the brand name (which still brings some fond feelings from people) and then sell a lineup of shafts that's part of a larger company/website. I dunno if they can make the business work as-is. Besides changing the lineup and fixing the...

    OB cues shut down?

I'm not surprised at all. Put it this way: They couldn't figure out how to sell me, a 20 year customer, on a new shaft. They were just not well-run. They blew so many little common-sense things. I thought when Mark Griffin bought it, they'd improve, and they at least streamlined the lineup. But...

Bergman ran a 19-pack, I think it's the highest package on video.

Long time no post. There's been various numbers thrown around but the video is up, and I count 19. For this who won't go on facebook, they said something about putting it up on youtube also. The run starts at Justin's 13th win and ends after his 31st win... he actually plays safe at rack 32...

Bergman vs Morra, race to 100.

Figured I'd post a score update for the curious. It's 75-66 Justin as of 7:30 , which includes Morra's 15-game spot. It was 70-61 to start today, so that means they played 10 racks in 2.5 hours, assuming 5pm start time. 15 minutes per rack. Even for slow players, that's nuts. ~5 minutes is...

    Incident at the pool room

The problem lies with the employee's communication skills. It's not a big deal that they left balls out and not a big deal that someone hit them. But the employee scolded them for A (using cleaned pool balls, which is kind of their purpose, to be used) when the customer's infraction was B (not...

    What happened to John Barton?

For some reason I got the urge to reply to this one. Maybe because I see some stuff in John that I recognize. I figure that he's probably off the forums for the same reasons I am. One of issues is that in pool rooms, and on AZ, there's a certain type here that can be hard for some of us to...

Who Will Win inaugural "Bar Box Money Game King" title? Alex P v Sky(3-5 Jan). 10Ball

I'll be likely to attend. I got no favorite, it'll be down to whoever breaks better. I don't think barbox congestion is super relevant with 9 or 10 ball, It's mostly an 8b problem. Especially if the break is working. I see there still a popular myth that you can rig a 10b rack by gapping it...

if you dont play it and cant watch onepocket

I can't play it without feeling bored but I do enjoy watching. But it has to be very high level. Watching anything less than top-level can get really tedious. Even with a couple of solid A-players you get those games that never end, with balls all uptable.

    A carom present from Accu-Stats

thanks so much for these... for whatever reason it's hard to find 3C videos with good english commentary. I appreciate that they took the time to convert and upload this, even though it won't make them any money. I wonder if any of their carom stuff was profitable?

John Schmidt 626 video Nov. 21 - semi-public (tickets required) viewing

Napkin math, could be totally off - John turned down $10,000. At $50 a head, he'd need 200 viewers to make 10k before expenses. I dunno what the expenses are, but I feel like $200 per stop would be pretty good. If he can get 35 people at 7 different tour stops, he's got his 10k, plus...

Can't find a fargo rate on some of the more famous pool instructors

There's video of Dave beating the 10b ghost on YouTube, 7-2. I'm an APA 9 and I don't think I'm a favorite to do that, not often. I'd say he's at least at the high end of B players. I think some people just like to look for an excuse to crap on instructors. Which is a baffling mindset. If...

    Mr 600

I actually suggested that exact thing 2 months ago. I still don't know why he hasn't tried it. It seems like a way he can release the video with an ebay-style "minimum reserve".

    Schmidt video release November

I don't think so, actually, he keeps saying on facebook that he's done with AZ and never visiting it again, that it's the most negative and hostile place on the internet. That's definitely hyperbole but I 100% get why he wouldn't bother coming here anymore.

    Schmidt video release November

Exactly. There's expenses and shipping, sure, but still, I'd pay $50. There should be more than 200 other people who would. Or, go the other route: offer it for so cheap, and make it so convenient, that piracy doesn't even seem worth the bother. Louis CK did that with one of his comedy...

    Schmidt video release November

Yeah I was curious about that myself. A custom gold crown with forgiving pockets? Nope, he played on a public pool room table. Airfare to Arizona? Even at first class rates with +1 it's not that expensive. Is he counting 10k worth of entry fees and gambling over the decades?

    Schmidt video release November

Yup, that's the gist of it. Accu-stats has a big catalog of stuff on Vimeo. Including, say, the 2016 US Open. The videos are great quality. But years later, you can't find it on any torrent tracker, or youtube. Why? Because nobody cares enough to bother, even at the low price of $5 per match...

    Schmidt video release November

To clear up a common misconception, Youtube is almost certainly not gonna pay him what he's looking for. The YT pay algorithm is complicated but if you're lucky, you can get $2000-$3000 per million views. So John would need 3-5 mil. views to even get near his target. Recent source...
