    Double Pressed Linen

This may be a stupid question, but why do I see some cues advertised with "double pressed linen"? What does that mean? Is there a "single pressed" method? Alan

    Radial System

Chris, Thanks. I was afraid that was the correct answer . . . I was just trying to be cheap. Alan

    Radial System

Arnot, Thanks. Perhaps I might be better off just using the undersized tap for both the butt and shaft. Alan

    Radial System

I'm considering trying the Radial system, and have noticed Atlas carries two taps, one undersized. Do most people use the "regular" tap for both the butt and shaft, or should the undersized one be used for the shafts? Does anyone know how undersized the smaller one is? Alan

Why you shouldn't move your own table

Smittie, I have a question on that "manufactured slate". Does it stay true, or does it have a tendancy to warp or crown? It doesn't seem like slate to me. Slate is metamorphic, and actually layered. This seems to be uniform and almost like marble. Alan

    My First Cue

Yuk - - sorry about that. What a lousy picture. It looks a lot better in person. The picture makes it look like you'd get splinters from the butt. The finish is smooth and glossy in real life. I'll try another picture later.

Blud's Latest 4 Blade CNC Saw Lathe

Blud and Cueman, There is no need to defend your trade. The popularity of your products and the price they command in the market place speak for themselves. I bought a lathe and inlay machine from Cueman along with the book and tapes. I already owned a table saw, jointer, bandsaw, etc...

    Cue For A Kid

I was inspired after reading this. Here's a cheap bar cue cut down to 42". 0.835 joint (I shot for .840) and 11mm at the tip. Nothing fancy, but it should work well for a 5- or 6-year old.

Replacing a tip with a fibre pad

Michael and Sherm, Thanks for your responses. The ferrule is not ivory, so I suppose it does not "need" the pad. I salvaged the pad anyway and put a layered tip on top of it. It looks sharp, but I'll try it out this afternoon. I figure I can always remove the pad if I don't like the 'new'...

Replacing a tip with a fibre pad

I was getting ready to change the tip on my Schon, and (embarrassingly) noticed for the first time that it has a black fibre pad. Now what? Should I try to leave the pad on and put a new tip on over the old pad? Replace the pad? Or, just install a new tip directly on the ferrule. Does it...
