I have pinned in and used the plastic wood like you would use on a deck for extentions then bondo as filler I have did it to several Gold Crowns with no problems in over 8 years. Some woods will shrink with moisture so be careful what you use. Takes some work , But it will be awesome when done...

table I have worked on them and they are junk. They do not compare to a gold crown or Diamond cheap rubber press board and angles cut wrong from the factory. Even the base is not solid. I would stay away and buy a used gold crown if money is a factor.:thumbup:

Was all the glue scraped off the slate when it was felted? Also did you ever see the center supports? May want to check these?:thumbup:
