    Rail nuts spinning inside

I have drilled the head off the bottom and pulled the rail. Good drill bit at slow speeds (steel drilling) no more than 700rpm max. Wear safety glasses/goggles and grease around the drill bit can help with the chips.

    Diamond question

Both sides. I highly recommend the Simonis installation DVDS. IT is well worth it and all your questions will be answered.

anyone use a brunswick converion kit to.....

Does the cost justify it? I wonder what the price would be. I am willing to bet that Mark's rails would still have a higher quality level of work and precision.

    Gold Crown Question

yep the early gold crowns with todays superspeeds or any k55 and no rail modification makes em play like ping pong and the play area shrinks and K66 mounted to the top of the rail makes it play slow, slow, slow. One day I hope to learn how to do subrail work. I wont even try to attempt it.

Rail Covering Trick on GC V

I have done this on some worn out dado groove at the end of the rails on Brunswick gold crowns. Seems to work great. Did not have any pull outs in a commercial environment for 6 years in between recovers. I haven't had the pleasure of recovering a Gold Crown V yet.

    Brunswick Table

That looks like a project. I am guessing a 10fter. I would hit up Mark Gregory and ask him about restoring the rails and to see if they can be converted to pool specs.

Brunswick 9FT Slate-Is it universal between tables?

Found a decent deal on a 9ft Brunswick Home Style Table. Just curious if the slate will match a Gold Crown Slate. I guess I am asking is Brunswick slate universal with their rail mounting holes. I am trying to find a set of slate for a gold crown 3.

    Covering rails with simonis

All I am going to say. I learned how to do great rail recovering from the Simonis DVDs. I purchased mine back when Glen announced the release of them. I also got to watch my friend Sundown Donny recover my rails years ago and I watched him. I am a monkey see monkey do type of person. Being...

Table work from Sharky's Billiards in Lancaster CA.

Glen, Some rails have the figure 8 plates and some have the heavier duty--(vs GC3 style) steel floating nut plates in the rails. I was under the assumption they were 1s and 2s based on that but I really have never really known the difference in a 1 vs a 2.

Table work from Sharky's Billiards in Lancaster CA.

I am stapling the bed cloth on these. Gold Crown 3 early version in the pics and the rest are a mixture of 1s and 2s. Thanks for the tip. Most of these tables have worm wood at the staple points. Not much choice in where to staple them. The GC3 had the best wood in the joint and it was showing...

Table work from Sharky's Billiards in Lancaster CA.

Not sure if this will work but here is some of my work from Sharky's Billiards in Lancaster, CA. John Schmidt showed up and had a 204 ball run and came up to me while I was working and told me the tables are looking and playing great. Hopefully this link works. https://imgur.com/a/qUltR

    Lancaster, CA--Sharky's Billiards--Gold Crown 2 rail rebuild-Need the experts

Ok so I am just leveling and recovering the tables as is. The owner wanted me to put new rubber on the rails and I explained to him that it would be a waste of money putting with the condition of the rails. I showed him the condition of the rails and gave him numerous options. Due to him hosting...
