a friend showed me a cue, no marks, white handle, white points with veneers and some sore of 6 point "star" inlay in a black oval inlya.. any ideas of the make ? white butt cap and white joint

I believe it has something to do with the butt of the cue, as i switched butts and using the same shaft and the "Ping" was gone. I think the the "Doink" is more of the sound of the tip, specially when using a very hard tip. maybe I should change the topic to "Ping" vs "muffled" vs "doink"...
