    Numerical Handle

with John Schmidt now being Mr 600, i was thinking to have a number, too. in honor of a recent run, "Mr 28 & Straight" seems appropriate.

    racking

so, to avoid doing my work... i've been watching some of the DCC runs that Dennis has put up. i notice that both Warren Kiamco and Nick van den Berg often swap balls around while racking, and i'm wondering what that's about. it doesn't seem in any way premeditated or have any obvious pattern...

    OB-122 cue with Classic shaft

**** no longer available **** i believe this is the handsomest cue in OB's line. it's hard to see in pictures, but the silver dash inlays against the black are truly elegant. i Really wish i could keep this cue, but i got it after playing with a Lucasi SP for 4 years, and i've become too used...

    wax bulge under table cloth

i've got a GC II that has been moved twice for me. after the first install it was up for about 8 months, and then stored for year, then put into the condo i'm now renting, downstairs in a basement on a concrete floor. the same guy did the install both times: the first time, no issues, this time...

    getting there...

ran a 38 and a 45 today, both ended on silly misses. the 2nd one was, uh, a little athletic in places. here's the 45, 22 minutes: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eLiUBsehfRM

    Brunswick Ranchero cushions

a friend just got a Brunswick Ranchero 7' for free, and set it up himself in his basement. it's a pretty good fit for what he needs, and the price was right! but he'd like to replace the cushions, which are really, really shot. anyone know what profile he needs -- i know squat about cushions...

    my first 50 ball run!

my first 50+ run, and on video! November 6, 2014. many, many thanks to all who have helped me along the way: David Sapolis, whose videos i feel so fortunate to have found in my first searches on youtube 5 years ago, and which revealed the inner beauty of 14.1 to me. Dan White, who recently...

    help me get a clue

last month i finally got my table set up again; it's very tight quarters, have to use a short stick if i'm on the rail, but that's actually a Real good reminder of what Steve Matthieu told me, that i was always leaving the cue ball on the rail, so now i'm doing that a lot less. after a few...

    you oughta be in pictures

i'd like to publicly thank the people here who've put up videos, and encourage others to do the same. if you haven't tried making a video of yourself playing, you'll learn a whole lot by doing it. you don't need fancy gear -- i do perfectly usable videos with just my iPhone, or these days...

    the one that got away

finally finished work around 8p, and played for a couple of hours. wish i had the camera running, pretty sure (but not positive because i was consciously Not counting, dammit) that i ran 3 racks and significant change at one point. definitely had at least three 20-somethings. not too pissed...
