Why do some pool halls enforce the use of break pads?

If I remember, I'll try to take a lower res picture of my home table. I don't use a break cloth. It's very obvious where cue is at on break. Also, there are 2 distinct white lines to where the 9 ball rack is. The white lines that the balls in the rack travel on, are not quite as distinct. (The...

    David Grossman...???

Measel cue ball has definitely made pool easier for me. With measel, I almost never have cue ball get away from me. That definitely was not the case with red circle cue ball (I'm glad those are mostly gone). I'm sure I'm not the only person that feels that way.

    Aramith Balls

I quit using moori tips because I was tired of buying high priced knockoffs that wore out quickly. It's a shame too, moori has a real nice product.

    David Grossman...???

Put the current top 10 on shag cloth with a light cue ball and see how their game looks then. They'll still be world class, but they will have the cue ball get away from them on draw shots more often. They'll miss more balls on force follow shots because they have to crush the ball to get decent...

    David Grossman...???

I watched an old video on YouTube. I think it was ronnie allen vs Grady mathews. Grady hits em REAL straight, with a sweet stroke too. Some of those guys would keep up just fine today.

    Travelling with cues...

I recently bought a rolling duffle off Amazon. It will fit a 2x4 diagonally with lid off. https://www.amazon.com/Gonex-Rolling-Repellent-Wheeled-Luggage/dp/B081C811S4/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?crid=1IF46YTH8MGE1&keywords=gonex+duffle+bag&qid=1697814703&sprefix=gonex%2Caps%2C151&sr=8-3

    David Grossman...???

Dave lives in Jacksonville area. Plays real good. I wouldn't call him a hustler though. Nice guy, will gamble. Honest and reliable.

    Average player cue recommendations?

I bought a konnlen off Amazon for visitors to use. For the the price, I was amazed at how nice the hit is. 300 for a cue with CF shaft and a nice hit is a bargain.

What should a XXX FargoRate be working on?

Fundamentals, sighting, body alignment, grip, stroke..... over and over thru that whole range of fargo's. If you want consistent results, you need a consistent approach.

rodney morris v greg hogue, 9-ball 10k match

    You should stick to APA.

rodney morris v greg hogue, 9-ball 10k match

Ok, maybe my post was unclear, so I will try to do better since you appear to need some help. I was referring to a match that someone else referenced (not hogue vs rodney). I pointed out that Fargo ratings are a LAGGING indicator (feel free to Google search lagging indicator). What I...

rodney morris v greg hogue, 9-ball 10k match

The thing to keep in mind with fargo is that it is a LAGGING indicator. When a person improves their game, it takes time for their rating to reflect that improvement.

    Should you practice artistic billiards?

Should you practice trick shots? If you enjoy doing that, then go right ahead. Otherwise, I'd say no.

    2024 Derby entries

Pretty sure you can spectate the whole thing with a players pass.... but I think 9 ball is last event, so might have a problem with that part.
