    Bubbles in seal cote

I agree with Joey. I have used auto clear for 29 years but with a quality mask, gloves, and a long sleeve shirt. You couldn't pay me to use CA to finish a cue. Others use it and like it. That's part of choosing what finish you want on your cue. Finally, Kim Walker had a Facebook video of him...

Here is $4K, build me a cue.

I have had 2 people offer up cash(2000, another guy said tell what I need to send you for something really nice) The 2 grand guy was happy as hell. The "tell me what to send" guy has a cue in the works, ebony and amboyna burl with ivory inlays. Most of my customers have a general idea...

    Ink for signing cues

I use India ink after the 1st coat. Never had a problem other than occasionally overloading the pen with ink leaving larger letters or numbers. Wipe off with lacquer thinner, reapply.

    Break/Jump Cue Construction

Since you live thread, JC, you should be able to turn them down really close to finish size and then, if necessary, light sand to blend them, It is harder to install the pin on the larger piece and then turn down and hold the center so that the cue doesn't have a wobble when you unscrew it. Hope...

    POINTS /NO POINTS/FULL SPLICE

Both cuemakers who replied earlier have valid points regarding construction. Either full splice or short splice can provide a quality cue. The skill of the cuemaker is very important to the finished product. I have seen quality and crap produced with both methods. Neither Chris nor Shelby...

    Which Silver?

Try youtube and look for knife makers who use silver wire. Argentinium does not tarnish. Simply put, dead soft would be used for tight small turns in the inlay, half hard on longer lines or slower curves. Go on Amazon, look for jig that allows one to place curves, or turns in wire. Reasonable in...

    Inlaid carbon fibre cues

I am well aware of 4th axis wrapping. Problem remains the same as you have a total of .039 on most cf shafts and up to .078 for some no-name shafts. Cut that carbon fiber down with any depth inlay and see how well the carbon fiber deals with this weakened area. Be my guest- post photos when...

DYE A Black LEATHER Wrap TO BROWN

Unless you could remove the black dye by chemical or a sanding method, I see no way to go from black to brown. Vice versa-no problem.

    Inlaid carbon fibre cues

most inlays of 1/2 inch wide or wider are .120-.140 in depth to allow for the curve of the cue. Smaller inlays could be .030-.040 and still would be fine. Carbon fiber is 1-2 mm in thickness(.039-.078 thickness). It appears that one would need some sort of backing to inlay a carbon fiber cue...
