This issue would have not happened if Earl hadn't misspoke. He clearly pointed to the corner for the 10, but called the 2. So which is it....2 or 10. He basically had a mental error that should have cost him the match.

I'm not a expert on 14.1 by any stretch, but I thought the game was a played in a "call ball/shot/safe" for all shots taken by a player? If that's the case and with the gentlemen who made the decision stating he heard "no clear shot called" wouldn't that have been a foul with loss of shot?

Other videos have surfaced where you can hear Earl say clearly "2 Ball".

Then why not put up an entry fee and bust him out of a tourney?

Excellent view point on the differences between US players and others. I've often wondered if the US was able to provide a greater number of pro level - paid events or tours if it would inspire more solidarity in the US players since a monies would be more available outside of team/country...

Just my two, but I think it depends of your level of investment. If your setups are north of $1500 then I would drop the extra dollars on protection.

I play at the Crooked Cue mostly with stints at JJ's, Strokers and Stix

I'm in the same boat myself. After an 11 year absence a lot has changed. I'm currently using a Predator SP w/Katana shaft, but find myself looking at russ espiritu custom cues making a wish list for next year.
