Rambos-Balabuska-Szambotis brand new here

I forgot to add, I believe with that fall out competition sports ended up with the rights for the "Hall of Fame" cues. Which then I they may have started to produce at their US factory under the "vintage cue" line.

That's where I am unclear on all this.

I would love to know more about that.

A little off the post subject but it's all fun and games until it might be one of your cues that go's missing.
Bile in the throat tastes like hell no mater whose cues they are.

All of that BS I said like "don't worry about it" was off the table as soon as I found out it was my cue that was missing,
and not the Ginger Wizard or whatever the **** it is.
I didn't want you to feel bad, but let face it, they were Doug's cues.
You could imagine my amazement when the ****ing Ginger Wizard popped out of my case instead of my cue.
Were your ears ringing last night?
I was going to call but I didn't want to be a buzzkill.

I had a friend who had one of the Adams Bushkas and he wouldn't hear you at ll when you tried to tell him it was not the real deal and worth very little....

He ended up hard up for cash and offered me a friend deal for the cue at 2500 with the right to buy it back for the same amount in 3 months... I sent him to DCC so he could get what it was worth =) He came back mad as hell with cue in hand... He couldn't even get 600 for it..... I never brought up the subject again......

i have friend and his father apparently has an original Balabushka. I seen him the other day and asked if i could stop in and video it soon.

There's a guy like that in every pool hall across America, lol. nothing you can do for them. My favorite line is " the old man didn't sign many" well, that's one thing you got right pal.

People will believe what they want anyway. One guy I know has an Adam Balabushka since about 1990. He swears to this day it is a "real" Balabushka. There is nothing you can show him or tell him to change his mind about that.

I've seen the same with The Color of Money Joss. I worked with a guy for a while who swore that the cue use in the movie was an original Balabushka.

My career as a cue broker started with that try and ended with that try.
From now on they can deal direct.

How do they sell these? You even get a certificate of authenticity.
The Balaushka cues are not the licensed ones sold by Adam.
And who gave them a license to sell a Szamboti?
No where does it even say replica cues.

I'm not sure if Adam makes the current line of these cues. According to their site,http://www.theadamcueco.com/, this company now makes the cues, http://balabushkacues.com/.

Figure it is a spin off for some reason.

I have one that was made by Adam. People that have hit with it like it. Whenever someone asks what it is, I always start with its a Adam replica. If asks if it is a balabushka, I properly state it's a Adam replica.

I got it for the looks, not the name on it. It was close to a Palmer I had a long time ago.

I think I read some where that the company that makes Mezz is the one that is making the Adam Buska cues now. Miki or something like that.

Because they tell you up front that it is a replica or tribute cue.
There are "replica" Rolex watches all over the net.

Also these cues do not appear to have a name or trademark for the cuemaker they are a replica of. When you put the label on then they become a counterfeit and can be prosecuted. That's what happens with the watches every so often. http://www.thedailyherald.com/islands/1-islands-news/15684-fake-watches-are-destroyed.html They still them online but they get busted every so often.

i would buy one of those knock offs, does anyone know how they play?

I have a Balabushka, Hall of Fame model CS-436, and it plays real good. Mine was made by the Adam Company in Japan and it doesn't have any signature or maker stamp on it. It came from the same factory that makes the Adam, Helmstetter, Mezz, and up until recently the Balabushka signature model cues. The newer cues that will be sold by Competition Sports will be made in the USA, from what I've been told by Donald Spektar, the head of Competition Sports.

I've had several people ask me if mine was a Szamboti.

The Balabuska signature model cues that were once being made by Adam are now being made in China. They Japanese-made ones are still being sold on the Adam Japan website, but I'm sure it is only until their stock is depleted. From what I've been told, the Balabushka family agreement with Adam Japan is no longer in effect. The license is now held by the company having the cues made in China.

Duckie I have hit several of these over the years and for a steel jointed production cue you did well. I am and always be a big pin flat faced guy so they are not my cup of tea but they are good quality... Love the look of them just hate that so many people won't accept the replica part =)
