There is an article, which I can't find but when I do I will share it with you, cause after reading my explanation below, it isn't that great.

I will try and explain as best as I can what I took away from it.

Set something small down about 10 feet away from you, if you are at a pool table, perfect, set a piece of chalk on the headrail and stand at the footrail

1. With your right hand, point with your index finger at the chalk with both eyes open.

2 Close your right eye, is your finger still pointing at the chalk?
Do #1 again, then close your left eye, is your finger still pointing at the chalk.?

I repeated with my left hand and got the same results.
When I close either left or right eye, my finger moves equidistant to either direction. SO I actually have centered vision.
If when I closed my left eye, my finger was still pointing at the chalk, that would have meant I have a dominate right eye.

Same here. In fact, when I focus on my finger (both eyes open) I see two pieces of chalk. When I focus on the chalk I see two fingers.

Do you think when anti-CTEers, anti-Shishkebobers, read my posts written to them they see only ONE finger? Trust me, it's there in every post!

I would like to try and understand the idea of cte, I have watched John Barton(the case guy) and a bunch of other videos on youtube about cte, I seem to have a mental block on understanding the concept. lol

The CTE idea as a very broad overview.

A 2x1 table has 8 90 degree angles.

The critical angles that define any 2x1 table are 15 30 and 45. The angles add up and total 90. ( See my YouTube videos 1 2 and 3 concerning table geometry.

There are 3 CTE perceptions ( 15 30 45 ) that can be defined, learned and repeated for connecting to the right angles of a regulation table.

CTE is an objective alignment system for the 3 perceptions to include how to access the CCB overcut tick-your target for making the shot.

Stan speaks of "A" in this video. It's important to know that "A" "B" "C" are always points on the Object ball from left to right.

See all of Stans CTE youtube videos.

Takes time.

These are good examples, but he is also demonstrating the fact that a certain level of experience is needed to make it work. By looking at the contact point he knows if the shot, as perceived, is "slighty" thick or thin, which tells him if it's an inside or outside sweep/pivot. If a player can recognize when a shot is a couple of degrees thin or thick, he already has a pretty good idea how to aim. It's like the perception (getting his body in the proper location for the shot) gets him close to the shot line, then experience guides him the rest of the way.

Your ignorance shines brightly! CONTACT POINT DOES NOT HAVE ONE STINKING THING TO DO WITH CTE....THICK OR THIN...or anything else concerning the system. ROTFLMAO...contact points..what a joke!

Why do you feel the need to post this when people are honestly trying to help this guy learn CTE as he asked?

You can quit laughing Stan. I was QUOTING the guy in the video. Lol. HE said he looks at the contact point and knows then whether or not the perception is thick or thin. Try to pay attention.

Honestly, for those trying to learn this guy is really helpful because he gives them a method of determining if it's a thick or thin perception based on where he says the CB needs to be in order to hit the contact point. I think it's good info. It's better than just saying, "I can tell this ball is going to go a little thick", without explaining how to tell. It's ambiguous otherwise, which is why some people find it difficult to learn.

You are really taking me out of context on what I teach about thick or thin. But go ahead if you get your damn rocks doing so!

Anyone who has watched your videos and read your posts on here knows I'm not taking you out of context. You have specifically stated that any player can just look at the shot and know if it's thick or thin.

Here's where you demonstrate your experience....good video, but you're assuming any player can do it. I send people to your videos when asked about CTE, and they tell me they don't understand it. I tell them to try buying the DVDs. I've even directed players here on AZ through pm to give CTE a try, but not to ask questions here. Lol. Seriously.

Seriously, is english not your native language?? How is it that you can not comprehend what he is saying there? He even illustrates it with his cue.

I watched my first explanation for shot 1.....not even 30 seconds...The solution for the shot is outside due its thin alignment that I explain as clear as bell.
In other words....as one learns the technique for determining thick or thin.....it becomes automatic in that you just see it and know it....I did mean that there is no process.

As easy as it was it will become much much simpler......

It's unfortunate but many that inquire or look into CTE want immediate gratification....one video take and they want to own it. Pros have had 200 years to explain what they're doing and they still come up short.
Heaven forbid that someone has to get in there a little and dig. If one wants a professional approach, it ain't happening overnight or in a day or a week but it DOES come to fruition with work.
If one wants an amateur system they can get 3 or 4 of them by morning.

My first explanation would qualify as an insert to a dummies guide for determining thick and thin.

I just gave my non-playing wife a basic explanation of it and then asked her to watch the video. I then asked her if she understood the directions. She said she did and it was clear on what to do.
