North American Professional Players

No disrespect... but who are you and how were you appointed to pick what players will play in invitationals?

I have not been appointed.. And my list means absolutely nothing other than an exercise in getting an idea of what players are out there.. The Open tournament model is and has been broken... Things are changing in case you are not aware... Mark Griffin is going to an invitational model and the Bigfoot may spin into a tour and will also be invitational if it does... Mark will have a list and Greg will have a list... Likely including many Euro players...

IF you wanted an American tour it has to be regimented and not open to anyone who shows up with the cash to play... It has to be an actual professional model of some sorts... Amateurs only get to play with pros in Pro-Ams in Golf.. By establishing a list and tour it would follow that a way onto the list would be needed and open a whole new area and twist to amateur events around the country...

The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results... This is just an idea of a way to do something different because as they say.. Something has to give......

It might be interesting to build a google map from your list, to illustrate the distribution of players by region or state.

That's not a bad idea!

Joe Tucker should do this as well for his organization and publish it.

Jose Parica and Santos Sambajon should be on the list. They have been residents in the US forever.

Fair enough, to start a dialogue, I guess.

I would rather have seen a desireability rating of some sort,, that didnt directly note individuals subjective issues. you know, lik a 1-10 scale or the like

But i didnt get off my butt to do anythiang about it, so i got little place to be Critical, i say.

Simple point... Trying to come up with a list for invitationals based upon North American Players Only.....

This would be a list of what would be considered professional speed players who could be possibly groomed and managed into an actual product/tour...

I could care less if the best player in North America was on the list if they are a convicted felon, has a history of behavioral problems or are otherwise not good for approaching sponsors with because of image problems..

I would have no problem moving a person from the retired to active list if they suddenly start going out to events again or state they would be willing to be part of a tour.....

At this point sure this is the cart before the horse but getting it out on paper lets us see what kind of talent pool could be drawn from if someone wanted to try and do smaller 16-32 man invitationals at 6-8 a year....

Invitationals mean fewer players smaller venues but more opportunity for chasing sponsors and marketing the product....

A list means the players could partner up to help cover expenses because they know who they are going to be seeing every stop.....

The next step would be to identify the Regions where events could be held... Europe has a definite advantage in Logistics because of the size.. Traveling between countries is similar to hopping states except 1500 miles will get you from the UK to Bosnia... 1500 miles will get you from Florida all the way up the east coast.... When Oscar comes to Chesapeak from LA it's 2700 miles.....

Maybe getting an idea of where the players reside would be in order... I'll amend my list for locations and see what that shows...

I will play all the players on "your list" here in Ft. Worth

Is that a hint that I need to send you a care package? LOL You've had that one on about 5 months??

Chris

Yeah, it got really hard over the last 30 days so I'm having it replaced. I will play all the players on "your list" here in Ft. Worth if they play 'Two Shot Shoot Out' 9 Ball OR 10 Ball.....and with 8/7 I'll play anyone on "The List" One Pocket (except Scott Frost 9/7).

I'm playing at Rusty's in Ft. Worth until my place is open in March/April....then the action around here will DOUBLE....just wait and see. ;)

I'll pull you to the active list if you are getting back in the box... If you end up just playing home court it's back to the old folks home with yas... When is your place opening? Might be worth a roadtrip =)

You could maybe toss Danny Olsen from SD in there too. He would be under the up and coming. Maybe some of the Behnke family members from over in IA. I know TheSleeve could mix it up with those guys with a bit of practice. He did knock Mika out at the BCA open.
