Hi,

I was probably 18 or 19 years old, had been playing pool for about 5 or 6 months give or take, I thought i was pretty good, at least good enough to play for cheap ya know . Well, i was fortunate enough to pick up on a few things at a young age and one lesson i learned, i would never forget : Never play a guy that has a city (pittsburgh billy) or a state (California kim) or a combo of city/state and shade (jersey red/n.y.blackie/detroit whitey) etc. as a nickname or alias, because chances are you'll not win ....

This thread is dedicated to all of the cool nicknames that we all love, some of these guys are no longer with us and if anyone wants to chime in and reminisce a liitle bit, feel free!:thumbup:

Jimmy Reid called me "the Brain" because he said I always see the right to play the out. I called myself the "Brain Damaged" because I always managed to screw it up. Actually my road name should be ATM because if you push the right buttons then all the money comes out.

"Tater" is also called the "Boaz Bandit"
and "Groundhog" has also been called "Water Moccasin"

sniper =would shot two barrels at anyone, beat most.
alibi al =lost a dance studio in NYC one floor at a time( his story)
arguing paul = after 3 or 4 disagreements i understood the name.
blue shirt = shirt had been white till the pool chalk got it.
nubby morgan = one arm trick shot artist.

Way far off....
I forgot to mention that JAM is excluded from the shiny nickel prize as I know that she knows of Creek. She actually has a pretty funny story about being steered to him on the road a long time ago.

Koop is indeed a cool nickname.. would be cooler if Chicken was the first name.
