Pro Player Max Eberle recalls "The Most Energetic & Electric Moment in Pool Times 10"

Max Eberle's comments on Earls "million dollar combination shot" -

"the most tense, electric, energetic moment I've ever experienced in pool times ten"
-

This is a clip from 'Billiard's Perfect Miss' interview with Max Eberle who finished 4th in the tournament.
Max continued to improve and became one of the USA's finest professional players and teachers of the game.
Max currently resides in Las Vegas and manages his PRO POOL ACADEMY.

Max recalled the combination Earl selected looked nearly impossible especially for a million dollars. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tdmSslBL4VA

Here's a picture of Max in the Million Dollar Challenge Tournament.
He was 23 years old in this picture and finished an impressive 4th Place.

Get out. We don't get to see Earl do the shot but instead, we see Mary duplicate the shot.

What does that prove other than that is the only dress that she owns.

That was an amazing moment CJ, what a thrill to be there and see it happen!

You and Mary made a great documentary, really fun to watch and get more info on the whole story. Also cool to see us all way back then. Man the PCA was a great group you started, looking forward to seeing what you have in store next CJ.

I highly recommend this film to all interested in the history of pro pool!

Two thumbs up!

Max Eberle

Blue Hog, for some reason, there was no way to 'quote' CJ's post ???... So I shall quote yours !...I think CJ is running out of subjects, to promote. whatever it is he is trying to promote !..I mean, Max Eberle is a great guy, but c'mon, CJ is grasping at straws, just for the sake of posting something, isn't he ?

I ask you..why would ANYONE care, that Max finished 4th, in a tournament, in which CJ finished FIRST ! (which is where this is headed, for sure)....About all CJ has left, to 'grab' our attention with, is the time 'Crazy Fred', beat 'Wild Willy', out of $8.00, at 2 shot foul, 9 ball.

I CANNOT be the only one who may see this, as a diversionary tactic..Main goal being "CJ self promo" ! (or am I ?).:sorry:

His post was about Max's recollection of the event, and I'm pretty sure he was simply giving a little kudos to Max by mentioning his 4th place finish.

The one thing you and I can agree on is that the majority of CJ's posts (95% by my estimation) are annoying, but you're grasping at straws on this one, old man.

I know one thing and that is, it galls your little ***** to have anyone get the spot light except yourself. You came on onepocket.org and it just drove you mad that Freddy B. had a beat list. Nevermind that the thread where Freddy posted it was a very fun thread that he turned into a contest, you just couldn't stand the idea that someone else was getting a little attention and recognition.

When you first came on to the site, many had heard your name albeit only from the octo and nanogenarians because your hayday ended about the time Nixon entered politics. When people asked you about your playing career it was like prying teeth because you didn't want to brag....lol. Since then you have blown your own horn pretty regularly, your recollection of your won lost record is only surpassed by that of Bill Stroud, who I have yet to see where he admitted to ever losing a match to anyone.

Max Eberle was 23 years old when he played in the Million Dollar Challenge and finished 4th. That is worth giving a little credit, and he and many others say it was the most exciting time they have ever experienced (times 10).

My post was simply stating that your post [about Max] was not annoying, and while the majority of your posts deserve criticism, this one did not.

Read a little more carefully next time.

This had a lot to do with having charity events and TV coverage

I remember you playing there like it was yesterday, Max, what a time in pool.

This statement is just plain retarded!! Self promo??? The documentary is about Earl Strickland running 11 racks for a million dollars, not Cj Wiley fool....BTW, when is your next documentary coming out???? Please inform us when it does, we would really like to know:grin-square: I assure you just about anyone would rather get news from someone like CJ Wiley who was a champion than a shortstop who aint never been there or done that...His post was about Max's response to Earl's epic feat not Max's 4th place finish....People here are unreal......jeez???

So your suggesting the only reason for this thread was to give Max props

While this is true, I think it is more-so another shameless plug for his DVD in poor disguise. This one happens to be less annoying because I actually respect everything that Max Eberle has to say in regards to pool.

I learned a new word today >>> nanogenarians

non·a·ge·nar·i·an
ˌnänəjəˈne(ə)rēən,ˌnōnə-/Submit
noun
plural noun: nonagenarians
1.
a person who is from 90 to 99 years old.

Thanks for that.

Also, don't be fooled, this is just more promotion of CJ's documentary. If you don't "real-eyes" that, his game isn't really teaching you anything... As I've said before, I'm not out just to attack CJ. He has FAAAAAAAAAAAR more to offer this forum than I do, but it seems he only chooses to come here to pitch products. I would be 10 times more likely to buy from CJ if he was just an active member who happened to have a link to his product in his signature, but it seems nearly every post is related to selling something.

Either way, "That Max Eberle is a weird dude." <<<(from Joe Rogan playing as Earl.)

All the best,

Exactly!

Im so sorry that life must be so bad that you feel it is a necessity to pull others down or attempt to insult rather than help ..someone needs a hug badly!
