◈ ◈ ◈ Divide up the Wanted/For Sale Section??? ◈ ◈ ◈

This was my post in the other thread... thoughts?

I think this is a pretty good idea, it would help clean up the entire section and help make navigation easier and more efficient. Someone looking for something in particular wouldn't have to wade through hundreds of other items and useless bumps while looking for what they want and if they don't find it, at least they will be passing by items related to their search.

Something as simple as this would help a great bit I believe.


◆ Production Cues (Mezz, Predator, Schon, Joss, ETC)

◆ Custom Cues (Gina, Szamboti, BB, Prewitt, ETC)

◆ Cases (Could be sub-diviided by size, price, or Custom/Production)

◆ Pool Tables (Brunswick, Diamond, ETC)

◆ Chalk (Kamui, Pre-Flag, Antique, Blue Diamond, ETC)

◆ Instructional (Books, DVD, Training Aids, ETC)

◆ Accessories (Gloves, Chalk Holders, Tip Tools, ETC)

I think it would be great, customers can focus on exactly what they are looking for.
 
Only thing is it would increase the workload on the Mods.
How many people are going to post in the case section "check out my Mezz break cue in the production section" etc.

Plus haven't we all been looking over the sale section for a cue and stumble upon a shaft or case at bargain price, so we grab it?

I agree..why ain't all of the posters here CLUB MEMBERS???..i have bought several things i
wasn't looking for..some was Ebay hits..i think its just fine..however..to mark what you looked
at every time you log in would be nice..help out folks...become Supporters and get a
Club Membership to help promote improvements..SA

Practical Machinist and CNC Zone have pretty big forums.
We should have 2 sections - pool cues and accessories. Make it simple...

wanted / For Sale

Separate sections for Wanted / and For Sale I think would be great. Also maybe Non-Pool items for sale should have their own section, this would create less bumping of Pool items. Thank you!
 
One of the hardest things in the WFS section is finding Trades...you can't search WTT or WTS as they are too short for the search function...

I know that some people offer cues up for sale OR trade, but someone who is specifically looking for a trade has to search endlessly...

Just a thought also...

I think it would be way too difficult trying to divide up custom cues vs production..especially semi custom/production shops like Schon,joss, jacoby, etc. I believe separate sections for cues and shafts, cases, accessories, and tables would be nice.

But how would a thread selling multiple items be classed? Would this practice need to be outlawed and a separate thread created for each item? Sounds like a lot of work and bumping.
 
i personally think its fine the way it is.. i spend most of my forum time here and in the Cue Gallery.. and i dont see any problems with the way it is.. other then some little things.. but i dont think it should be split up...

I agree with both of these two....but also with the op.

I have bought things cause they were too good of a deal to pass up. I didn't need them, and was definitely not searching for them.

I think a few different categories might be a good thing.
The production/custom separation may be good. Some more ideas could be:
-cues/cases
-used cues/new cues/used cases/new cases
-cues<$1000/cues>$1000,cases<$300/cases>$300


But like Chris said, I think this section is great the way it is, and I wouldn't lose any sleep over it if it stayed the same.
 
If I'm trying to sell a high end Samsara or Jacoby cue where should I list it? Production or Custom?
The section definitely should not be divided. There are any number of problems that would arise if that were to happen.
It makes more sense to have an improved keyword / filtering system for advertisers and allow viewers to choose what is displayed with improved search filters, etc.
The default should remain the way it is.

I agree with the clean up. But this statement is pretty much what I do. I just Troll looking at everything and if I stumble on something Bonus!
