Anyone notice Ralf's break cue? What break cue is he using?

This kid (Aloysiuss Yapp) playing against Darren Appleton has been very impressive so far. He now leads 6-3 against Darren in a race to 9.

Darren frustrated

That's the worst I have ever seen Darren play. He was struggling on every shot. You could see his frustration at the table.

Early casualty-Stepanov is out of tournament

Lee Van , Denis Grabe, Van Den berg.Chang Jung Lin, Marcus Chamat, Kevin Cheng all fighting now to stay in tournament
Table 4 says Chang Yu Lung v Sharif but that is actually Chang Jung Lin

Marcus Chamat v Kevin Cheng is match to watch now.

Darren, Liu Haitao, Francesco Diaz playing next match about 2 hours from now at 1130am EST.

I hope I get a chance to watch Daryl Peach v Mike Dechaine AND Marcus Chamat v Kevin Cheng. I guess I had better check to see what time they play.

Is that Reuben Bautista?

JoeyA

yes Reuben

;) Sure will. The way he played today, he might just be the dark horse of this tournament. No fear at all.

Yes this kid is current World Junior Champ so they don't know fear

You know what makes these matches so much better than most - NO COMMENTARY!!

I understand commentary in 1P but in 9 ball it isnt necessary and usually winds up just distracting.

Man, as good as Cheng Yu Hsuan is, he takes excruciatingly long to finish a rack. He gets up on every single shot about 5-10 times and does a million air strokes. Is it nerves? I don't recall him playing like this.

I agree, Kris. It reminded me of Charlie Williams when Charlie plays in that mode (Charlie can also play in fast mode).

There was a point in Game 11 when Kevin had a pretty easy 2/6 combo with no real position problems. I don't know how many times he was up and down on that shot. I can't imagine he learned any more about the shot on his 7th or 8th look than he did on his 1st or 2nd. Immonen (one example) would have been down the road several shots in that time. I'd think that Kevin's style in that match would be mentally wearing, and not good in the long run.
