Sorry for another equipment thread guys but I have posted on here a time or 2 about wanting a sneaky Pete with green veneers. It seems like that is hard to find or get made anymore. I talked with Schmelke and a few others to be told that they could not make one. I was at a Tournament last night and a House player who is a Predator fan has a 1st generation sneaky with green veneers. It is the 1st sneaky Predator made , but he the Butt only. He does not have the original shaft. The Butt is in probably 90 percent shape as it has maybe a few minor dings that would buff out probably. He wanted $200 for the butt. I do not know much about Predator or the value of them. Is $ 200 a good deal. If not what would be.

I wouldn't think 300 for a full cue would be reasonable (to me, personally...gotta give me $3 to take it!).

New shaft is 200, minimum, no?

75 for the butt...80 if you really want to buy a new shaft or if you already has one that fits.

Free advice. Money back guarantee.

$200 is less that what a builder would charge. A decent blank is gonna be $80 and UP plus the labor. I'd still offer him $150 and see where that goes. Billiard Bills in Florida has a nice cue he made from an early Pred SP butt. He's askin $800 for it.

I have the first sneaky Predator cue. I liked the green veneers so I put a black wrap on mine with green specks. I have used mine for years, other than the bluish shaft it looks new. I have seen the butts come up on Ebay now and then without the shafts. The value is indeed in the shaft but of course the butt is what you look at. They have sold for under a hundo if I remember correctly.
I payed $285 for mine new.

I like you Advice Garczar. May give that a try and see what happens.

Is this the butt? http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-5...0001&campid=5335988529&icep_item=233872558255

If I recall they were a full splice butt made by Falcon at the time. For that money, even points and dead straight. The price is probably "about right". One of our guys here, a dealer in Canada, was selling a ton of these blanks that were Predator extras.

Yes , just the butt. I wonder if the Dealer from Canada has anymore left.
Why? You know a blank needs a lot of work to get to playing shape?

By the time you get that blank to play with, you'll be so deep into it, $-wise, youll be mad you paid custom cue price for a predator.

Maybe $150 if you really wanted it, but $100 is the going rate for these
Yea I would think $100 would be about right. $150 seems on the high side to me. It has a few small dents and a couple of scratches. The next time I am at the Cue Club I will see about the 100 offer and go from there. Thanks for the info. I Appreciate it.

True , That makes Sense. I will try to see if he will take $ 100 for it. It needs a little tax but could be made into a nice sneaky with the right shaft. Thank you all for your help. Greatly appreciate it.

The price of these has actually gone up in the last few years. They are really great playing cues and have a nice hit to them. The 5/16x14 ones are quite hard to find. I would prefer to have the original shaft if at any point you decided you didnt have a need for it and tried to sell it. But if you plan on keeping it, $200 is actually a fair price as the uniloc verson, (the 4pt green, the 4pt red, the 8pt red) go for about that price, butt only, with the 8pter going for a bit more. And the 5/16x14 are much harder to find, especially in decent condition, so i would expect to pay more or at least the same.

I have a pair of SP8RWs while you are looking for/at and SP4Rx where x determines whether the joint is wood-wood or steel-steel.
I paid $400 for each a bit more than a decade ago when shafts were $250
The first ahs a 314-1 shaft, the second a Z2 shaft 5-ish years later.

So a new Butt is worth in the neighborhood of $150--you can make up your own mind os to how to proceed from here.

I believe that Roy Mason bought much if not all of of the remaining stock from Falcon. He was selling surplus blanks a few years ago, no idea if he has any left. This is likely the fellow Tate was mentioning.

Dave <-- bought a Falcon/Predator full splice blank from Roy, it is resting comfortably near the table waiting to be made into a cue some day

This is him, Duc Lam, Cuemaster98 - he has all kinds of stuff. Probably a good guy for you to get to know.
