People are crazy.
Ten years on the same forum? Who could stand it that long!

In order for any awards program to achieve maximum recognition, there should be more than just tenure involved.
No one should be recognized for just being a free member for ad infinitum.....one could sign up for AZ and just do
nothing but post once a year or nothing.......that kinda recognizes people for just living longer......duh? If you're
not active, and participate, then tenure means nothing. And free membership awards are stupid.....it's like
recognizing a AZer for holding a library card for 90 years........Yippee.....but they may never even take a book out.
Basically, all they did was live longer than others holding a library card.
Awards should have levels........10 years is too far.....it should be 5 yrs, 10 yrs, 15 yrs. etc. Awards need to be
stair-stepped in order to have greater significance and all awards should be doled out to paying members who
contribute to the Forum financially. Awarding someone for just posting threads and replies and buying or selling
stuff for free for ten years is kinda a joke in my opinion. If you don't pay for belonging to the AZ Forum, then you
only have a guest privileges and as such, don't deserve any recognition for being just a free member for a long
time. It sounds like someone is looking to recognie people for just the time passage of time and nothing else.
I mean if someone won't spring for 10 cents/day, then time doesn't matter. Become a paying member for 5 years,
or 10 years, etc, and you should get a statue or something but awards for free memberships are just stupid. And
I'm not posting this because I just went "Gold" either. Keep in mind I'd have to go nine more years....9 years of paid
membership......Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that the award should be based on the total number of years of
being a paid member, and not some combination of free & paid years of membership. That means I'd need another
9 years of being a paid member in order to receive a ten year recognition ....not just calendar time.

On another forum I had frequented, there were a number of badges given out.
- 10 Years
- Pro Player
- Division Rep (or League Operator here, I would guess)
- Top 100 (Post count)
We could have badges here for:
- AzB King (state king)
- Pro Player
- Cue Maker
- Company Reps
- APA, NAPA, TAP, or BCA badges
I'm all for them. They are an easy way to differentiate between posters. That's why we avatars and signatures too!
