>>> $100 challenge rack 4

No video, got to the four and landed just slightly behind the ten. Moved the four into position where I could make the five and ran out from there. For the six I spun the cue ball all the way around the table to line up a 7/8 combo. Made that and ran out. Getting from the 3 to the 4 and from the 5 to the 6 is tough as nails. Then you need some good luck to come around the table for the combo or a great angle to come up and down the table to put the seven in the same pocket as the six.

I used to play a lot of Mexican rotation with all the balls lined up on the diamonds. So this puzzle has the same feel to me. Will definitely put your stroke and your nerves to the test. I think to get out here you need to have a lot of luck but also probably to play the balls a bit differently than what seems obvious. Banking the three is an option for example that brings the cue ball around the table under the four or if banked from above then it sends the cueball into the 4/5/9/10 group and can rearrange them favorably with luck.

I like JB's idea to pay out $10 per ball to the highest run. Since I have already started this challenge and not stipulated that rule, I cannot change it mid-challenge. It is definitely something I will consider if I decide to do a drill-like rack again. I think I should stick to more realistic, natural racks. Thanks for the tips everyone. They will all go a long way to make these challenges fair, fun, and only 90% difficulty!

Good luck everyone, I would LOVE to see someone run this one out and get more fame than cash.

Get ready, I'm REALLY hoping to stump you guys with this one. The last 3 were difficult, but you ain't seen nothin' yet! I am going to sit and PRAY you guys aren't good enough to destroy my challenge in less than a week.

There have been some suggestions, some complaints, but mostly good feedback on these challenges. They will get tougher, more mind-boggling, and bring out the fast&loose in those of you who take a crack at it.

Therefore, from now on all challenges will be on 9 foot tables only. I hate to do this, but it's simply too difficult to put out 2 challenge racks for different table formats. I feel that it is more challenging on a 9 footer, and they are generally more readily available.

I am also looking for anyone interested in sponsoring these challenges. I'm putting in $600 of my own cash into these first 4 (October & November challenges). For December, I want to do a $250 Challenge Rack. If you're interested, and want to put up at LEAST $50, contact me to get your logo on the posters AND a banner ad on my website which is getting lots of traffic with these challenges.

Looks like you're tired of paying out?

Based on the layout, not the appeal for sponsorship.

John, I think you missed the part where it said all the balls have to go in the bottom right corner (the pocket closest to the one). That is what makes it pretty much impossible. I felt like a world beater getting to the six.

Oh I missed that. Yeah it's pretty much impossible with that stipulation. It's not a run this rack anymore because that's just pretty much a waste of time to try.

It hasn't been a week yet, people give up too easily...I would try this at home but only have a barbox to film it on ...partial credit or $50 for doing it on the barbox?

If you can do this on a barbox you should get double. With the stipulation that all the balls go into the corner position play is even harder on a 7 foot table.

I will give you $100 credit against a leather case if you can do it on a barbox.

I ran it the first time I set it up (no video) and then spent the next two hours trying until I did it again and got it on video. I was in the process of uploading the video when I noticed that all the balls had to go in one pocket. :(

I spent about another 30 mins on it and said f'it.

I still think you should upload the video of the run. I don't care HOW you ran it it's still tough.

I messed with it for about an hour last night, and the best I got was a few awful shots at the 6 ball - kicks and impossible banks. Brutal to just get on the 5, and tough to get something workable on the 6 from there. Doesn't help any that my table is a shimmed GCII and requires a near-perfect hit to power balls down the long rail and get them to drop. Balls and table hadn't been cleaned for a couple of months, though, so I'm going to do that and take another whack or two at it.

Interestingly, one of the best chances I had of getting out was one where I actually screwed up position on the 3-ball. The cueball caught a point on the side pocket and left me real flat on the 3. I z-banked the 3 and left the cueball the rack area, then I z-banked the 4 with follow and stuck the cueball to the rail where the 4 had been. Hit a nice 3 rail shot on the 5 that was headed to the pocket, but the cueball, which I tried to draw uptable off of the 10-ball, collided with the 5-ball about 2' from the corner pocket. It's possible I would have had a good shot on the 6, but there's still a ton of work left after that.

Getting out requires something exceptional, whether it is exceptional skill, exceptional luck (like my little banking exhibition), or exceptionally soft equipment. Would be interesting to offer $500 or $1,000 on this challenge to get some of the big boys involved.

Holy mother of GOD! Dude, how in the hell are you completing these racks?! In case you all don't know, this is Anthony's THIRD successful runout of my challenges. He completed the first one (after the first person, so I gave him a free t-shirt as a consolation), the second one for $100, and now this one for $100.

So, yes, you do win the cash, because you made all the balls in the corner, and according to the rules stated in the diagram "9 ball rules apply", you win! I am pretty speechless here. I know the 10 was luck, but you DID sink the first 5 balls, which were crazy hard to not only make but play even decent position on. Well done, sir! Please share your video on the Facebook page.

Let's all give him a round of applause, he defeated my toughest rack yet. What the hell do I gotta do to stump you guys?!

Well, when we do the break and run contests we usually stipulate that all the balls have to be run. So even if you make the 9 or 10 early you still have to run the rest in order.

Kudos for honoring the wording. Not only do you have to dream up nearly impossible runouts but you have to think about the rules.

Personally I think 2county jacked up his table so all the balls went to the corner :-) I see he is finally making some dough off those great vids he puts up.
