100k balabuska??

This cue has been discussed before. 40k is a more realistic figure and he'd be lucky to get that.

What is the actual fair price? Assuming all facts are true!

Big b already answered lol

This is the same Balabushka that started out and still is on the Los Angeles craigslist. I guess he decided to try in the Chicago area as well. It has been discussed on here since it first posted in LA

Appears to be original, by the finish, joint rings, and Cortland wrap. Also immaculate, for about a 45 year old cue. By the point length, I'm going to guess this is from a Spain blank.

Considering that Mosconi's Bushka went for approximately 100K, I agree with others, this one will not do that. But very fancy, even has George's gold bands in the buttsleeve. One nice cue.

All the best,
WW

40k is realistic? Its a round piece of wood for Christ sakes

Its hard to believe that a cue has that kind of value.

The Inverted Jenny (upside down airplane stamp) is valued at $100,000 and it is a square piece of paper....I think there is around 100 of them left.

This cue is really nice.

KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

Ok, there's my 100K, now ship that baby to me!

As someone that actually held this cue, it is a gorgeous piece. I would say 90-95% original condition, there was one shaft that still had the paper wrapping from George. (Original tips) I think all the oohs and ahhs from the show drove the price of the cue up. :)

Sad to say I know a few guys that even in this condition would send it for a refinish. :(

I'd play the hell out of it!

I've never sold a Balabushka but I'm interested, and have been for a while.
$40,000 sounds a little low for this special cue...in my opinion

There was another shaft?

OK...I say don't refinish.

I also say don't separate original parts.

I am endlessly amazed at how often we see shafts for sale for high end cues. People say "Sold the (Searing, Szam, Mottey, Tasc, etc) cue a few years ago and forgot I had these shafts for it.

Are you saying he sold an original shaft from the cue? Or are you saying he unwrapped it?

Anyway, I bet a lot of jaws dropped when that cue was pulled out. I envy you that you got to handle it.

To some it sounds low...to some high.

The only one that gets to say for real is the one that steps up with the cash. Until then, it's an asking price.

Question: in the collector car arena, certain cars no longer bring the money they used to be worth, because of the "aging out" of the people who valued them. Is it possible that this is time when we see certain cue brands lose value? In 10 or 15 years will demand for something like a Balabushka be replaced by more modern cue designs?

Demand won't be replaced, that's the problem
