I have a pretty old Danbuilt 8x16....it's easily the most solid and well-constructed of the suitcase style dealer/collector cases. Nothing even competes fro second place imho. Mine has the liners on both sides of a divider which are formed foam. The cues/shafts fit nicely in them and slide only minimally up and down but fit very snug with no side to side movement. It is bullet-proof....I love mine...and would never consider selling it. The bigger ones are basically the same type of set-up, except the cues fit inside a larger shell or trunk. There are trays inside that stack vertically where the cues lay in...same foam material except with a backing, I think. These are the very best in safe cue storage and transport. Dan Diishaw builds one fine case..... :)

IIRC, Dan used to repair wood musical instruments and also make cases for transporting them. Made a natural transition to making cues and cue cases. I've played with one of the first 12 cues he ever made to sell since 1995.
 
Danbuilt Cue Cases have been the STANDARD of excellence ever since Dan Dishaw started building them (iirc) 20+ years ago. As Cueaddicts mentioned, nothing compares to the quality, security, and protection that these cases provide. Every cue collector I've ever seen or met uses Danbuilt cases to protect their collections. The same quality that goes into Dan's cases, also goes into the cues he builds.:D

Those look like the nuts. I have been looking into cases to transport video and electronic gear and the prices on those are not bad considering the custom built interior that is specific to cues. Looks like one of those things that once you have it you wonder how you ever did without one.
 
Justin...I'm pretty sure Dan can build anything you want, to fit your gear. He would just need exact dimensions of your equipment.

While I would love to have those type of cases they are just out of our price range. We are going with Pelican cases. Have to basically create our own interiors by cutting the foam but the level of protection to cost is pretty high. One big downside of the Pelican compared to the Pro AV style case Dishaw makes is that the Pelicans are HEAVY.
