I've already leveled up the concrete in the opening...

This is a good point here - A garage floor should always be sloped down towards the door to ensure drainage of spilled fluids. Even though you can compensate for this in the leveling of the table you will find it a bit odd at first to play with one end of the table being higher than the other.

I have a table in my garage but have not bothered with a full "room" conversion because I wanted to keep the utility space and because I felt that, as and when we sell the house, the average prospective buyer here in darkest Southern California is more likely to want a 2-car garage than a Pool room. I just put down some cheap vinyl floor tiles and Walmart carpets.

Thanks for all the great ideas and opinions so far guys. It is possible. Just have to move some stuff around. I would hate to lose my garage but at the same time I despise not having a table more. I'm gonna do it I just have to figure out the best way. Any other opinions or ideas are welcome.

Thanks Again, John
Make sure you post some pics of your room....Hope you NEVER have insomnia but IF you ever do we know what room you will be in....:)

Just an idea IF you have the yard space you could put a leantoo on the side of the house for the car or mc..

Well to be honest, due to my location (and job) it's not happening for a little while. But I will be back at the house for vaction in early January. I'll definately figure out something at that time. At least get a plan in place. I also thought about putting on an addition to the house but the garage conversion would be a lot cheaper. I have been looking at them both on the net.

John
Nothing wrong with that we all have to have dreams..Good luck to you...

Here's mine... go for it. :thumbup2:

I haven't messed with insulating it or finishing the walls... maybe later... maybe never as the climate here is so temperate. And although I didn't believe that I would, I like shooting when the garage door is wide open. Helps get rid of that nasty cigar smoke. :groucho:
