So, generally speaking for these qualifier, how many points are the matches to?

Lou: This thread has probably been preempted by this one:

John was going to get back to me re details but I think he is computer challenged or at least time challenged. I'll see him tonight. I assume it is limited to 16 and top 2 go. I may know more tomorrow.

Are you coming up?

OK, thanks for the update, Dennis. (Oh, and Monsignor Lavin is anything but computer challenged :-)

I was thinking about coming up there. See, my birthday is that weekend and my wife is like, "Oh, how cool. Let's go to Chicago, I'll take to to a great restaurant, you can play some straight pool, and we get to see John and BJ again."

So like I said, I'm thinkin' about it. Tell you what -- if you see this in time and he has an open slot, could you ask him to hold one for me?

Live Stream

Some of the boys from AZB are talking about getting a live stream going from the Red Shoes Qualifier.

I'll let you know if it goes off.

NO internet connection therefore no live stream.:frown:

Dennis, do you know how many are signed up?

Lou Figueroa

Lou: Not really. I know of about 8 others that say they are playing. Of them, 4 have locked in, 5 if you have. John says some guys are on the fence, some say they will....

I'm locked (and loaded?). But OTOH, I don't want to waste anyone's time with a five man event :-)

I will call John tomorrow.

I think there will be a lot more.

Limited to 16.

Top 2 go to NJ.

John has already paid for the two, so however many they get, the tournament will go off.

I know of one maybe 2 guys coming from Wisconsin, 4 others told me they were playing, not counting you, John told me another guy had signed up, and John said a lot of guys said they were thinking about it.

I would be surprised if they don't get the 16.

Sailor

Any word from Sailor?

Jim: I talked to him on Monday. He's coming down with Bob Treff. Bob is playing in the tournament. He wanted me to make sure to remind John Lavin that Treff is in.

Will you be there? I'll be playing, but will unfortunately probably have some free time later in the day.

Dennis

I don't know the results.

When I left, Lou Figueroa was on the winners side waiting for the winner of the Rick Michalec, Sr. and Bob Treff match. It had been going on for an hour and 40 minutes and the score was about 40-9.

On the losers side Bob Cozzolino was playing Mark Snodgrass and Denny Keehan was playing John Lavin. Jeff Mohl was waiting to play the winner of the Cozzolino/Snodgrass match. The winner of the Lavin/Keehan match would play the loser of the Treff/Michalec match, if it ever finished.

I barely squeaked by my first match winning 100-98. Lou Figueroa beat me about 100-50 and John Lavin did about the same. I missed some short straight in shots and some longer straight in shots. Lou played a very nice game against me. Thoughtful patterns.

As for high runs, all I heard was that Cozzolino had a 50 and Treff a 37. There may have been more but I did not hear about them.

I'll update when I hear something.

I hear that Bob Treff and Jeff Mohl were fighting it out on the losers side.

And that Sweet Lou Figueroa won on the winners side but that he graciously gave his spot to Rick Michalec, Sr.

Rick is wondering about the scheduling. Anybody got any info re players schedule, i.e., is there a banquet on Sunday, etc.

Sounds like Sailor was up late.

Thanks for the reports Dennis. Why did Lou give up his spot?
