15 ahead for $32,000

Guaranteed

Lmao. You are as delusional as they come if you think these guys are making a living playing bonus ball. They may get 26k, after taxes how much is that? Then before they get back home how much did the casinos get?

There are not more then 10 people in the WORLD making a good living from pool. Yes I said 10. And I don't think there are more then 2 players in bonus ball making a decent living playing this game full time. It sucks, but it is what it is. And it will not change in our lifetime as much as I wish it would.

They might only get 26k but at least its guaranteed. Don't forget one of those guys is gonna lose 16k. And don't forget that's income so you gotta pay your taxes on that to lol. And don't forget there's casinos in Biloxi and Tunica.

Now this is pool news. Whoever wins this match, no matter if it takes 5 days will clear more then the best bonus ball player gets from bonus ball for playing 4 months.

Lmao. The hell with bonus ball, this is what pools about, gambling, action. But a lot of those top flight pros can't hold a steady bridge if they are betting 16k, whether its their money or not.

This should be on the AZB front page, headlined " Lil Flea vs. Josh Roberts for 4 months of bonus ball salary"

This is a funny post. Every one of the pros on BB has spent their lifetime gambling, before they joined the "tour" of their day, after their action dried up casue they beat everyone in the country. The guys playing in this head set in this thread, simply are not at that level. This has nothing to do with BB or not. Just "touring pro" vs "shortstop" caliber of player.

Round two

lil' d just arrived and is waiting on josh. even with the internet chatter about this match and most people thinking lil' d is the favorite, dwight assured me that josh still wants to continue and actually did not want to quit last night. think they played for 27 hours until josh got it even. can't wait for them to get started

Actually I don't think ANY pool players, ok maybe a couple, are staking themselves. Best case scenario they will come out with 4800-8000 depends on how generous their stake is feeling.

Then they will head to the casino. (if they don't get robbed first in the parking lot)

Best of luck to all involved.

Of course that was a given (being staked). Point is somebody is still gonna lose

16k where Bonus Ball money is guaranteed.

hopefully, the folks at the greenroon will keep a watchful eye out.

They didn't all gamble. And half of them still can't. There's a big difference, whether staked or not. And every last one of them can surely still get action, they just can't take the heat of having to give up a little weight.
And for the record I never said they were at anyone's level, but if you think there are not some people in bonus ball that josh Roberts can't beat playin dead even your wrong.

Throwing around 26k like its a big pay for the year. Shit Obama is giving people on welfare more then that per year.

I was at Derby 2 years ago having a good time playing blackjack on the riverboat. A very well known pro pool players sits at my table and before I can say hello he bets 2K on a hand and won. He plays 2 K bets playing two handed and lost both. Gets up and leaves. Everyone else at the table was like WTF??? I just said he's a pro pool player and life resumed with 20-50 dollars bets around. Money management is not their strong suit!

Don't think of it as for the year. Think of it as an hourly rate and then see how the numbers add up and its GUARANTEED.

Some people gamble and some don't. Thorsten Hohman says he doesn't want your money and he doesn't want someone to have his. John Schmidt has stated that he would take a salary of 50k a year and his backer could keep all his winnings. Now whether that's a good deal or not is obviously up for debate. IMO opinion its tough to say no to guaranteed money.

That's not how it works. Some of you just don't think it thru.

There's a lot of people spending a lot on plane flights bi weekly, which are not cheap now. Paying to live in 2 places also, not cheap. Being away from their families, kids for extended periods, none of that any good.

Like I said, name me 10 players in the WORLD that make a decent living playing pool.
I'll start you out with #1 and SHE is not in bonus ball.

Just spoke to Lil flea, if he wins this set he will have the bigger portion of that 50k josh won in NOLA.
Lil Flea is already up 2 sets at this game. For a smaller amount playin 10 ahead

Josh is showing a lot of gamble
I know someone else who will do that

I am sure the taxman will get paid by the winner. After they will itemize all the meals, hotel rooms, 4 dollar gas, practice time, 30 dollar chalk and the lemon they laid down at the last 3 spots. I reckon the winner will be up at a C note.

She's not gambling she's giving exhibitions and marketing herself to the masses.

Of course you have expenses and subtract those and get your hourly rate. Figure it out if its worth it for you. You might be better off getting a job at walmart. But what's the fun in that compared to doing what you love?

She's making a living from pool, your telling me she's not? She was smarter then the others, you ever thought of that? She knew it was impossible to make it from playing alone.
She is hands down the biggest earner rotation billiards has ever seen.

All I said was there's not 10 people making a decent living, and there is not. NAME THEM. the United States may be home to 4 players that make a decent living from this game.

Not many of them.He happens to be one of the few that bets high..But there is also a reason some players that are top level pros still don't compete as often..Ha ha black Jack poker and pool action usually pays way higher than the tournament...

As for this match...I'm not sure who will win..probably the winner..

Update? Looking how the hometown guy is doing. Josh is a helluva player. Great feel and doesn't miss. Will check back later.

She's not necessarily smarter. She's just realized that she's more marketable than everyone else. There's also a difference between playing pool so to speak and giving exhibitions. One is guaranteed and the other is a crap shoot. I'm sure many pool players would fare much better if they worked on some kind of routine that would make them more appealing to the masses of pool. For example look at that venom kid that does the trick shots. Ever hear of him winning a major pool tournament or even playing in one? I would probably guess that he makes more money than the "professional pool player."
