19 Cues just posted on ebay - high end stuff

Nice cues .. would you consider USPS Priority or other shipping method? I hate to see cues listed with UPS Ground since it takes forever to deliver :(

Length of delivery time should be the least of your concerns. I would never, ever send anything of intrinsic value via a Ground carrier. Having worked damaged packages, as well as damaged package claims @ Fed Ex Ground, I have seen some real horror stories. THE only way I would ever ship a cue via a Ground carrier is if it were shipped in a PVC tube, with the appropriate declared value, and take pics of the package before it goes out, with a date stamp on the pics. I have seen how packages are often packed into the trailers, and common sense generally does not apply. You gotta remember these package handlers are not making great money, and are under severe time constraints to get the job done.

I have seen the necks snapped clean off of guitars shipped in their cases. I have seen a motorcycle tank, that was packed very well, dented. I have seen tube type boxes flattened, ends popped open, and empty. I have seen boxes so wet, that they were disintergrating. The only way to be sure that a package can survive the trip is to drop it from at least 4 ft, and then drop something heavy on top of it.

Spend the extra money and send no less than 2nd Day delivery. Rule of thumb is, the less time a package is in the system, the less likely something is going to happen to it.

Wow, go threw all of this pain, bad review on AZ and trouble of selling 19 cues on ebay for a maybe Balabushka on ebay from Arizona......

I wonder if you really thought this out? Your cues overtime could go up in value and maybe bring you more. As my dad used to say never put all your eggs into one basket......

His basket is huge .. look at his feedbacks. He's got a quite a selection and is a veteran seller on eBay. I'm sure he knows what he is doing.

19 Cues

I personally know this seller of these cues and have seen his collection. I spoke with him this past weekend and the only reason he decided to use Ebay instead of the forums here to sell them is about the mass amounts of emails he had received. He had received 200+ emails requesting pictures within days and that is a hassle to send pictures to each individual person. So he figured to save time and hassle, just throw them on Ebay. He is well known around the community for collecting cues.

NO Deal...!!!

I don't like the Idea of Bid and If I like your bid OK, If not I take it away..!!!
BS
Try that at Barretts Auto Auction. The whole idea of auctions is playing on peoples greed to get a good deal.
If you know a cues is woth a $1000. would you let it slide by for $500. and you are in the market for this type of a cue? I would jump on it for 75% of its value then watch it to the end.
Sounds like this seller wants.
1. a sure thing! (Don't we all)
2. That he is pulling his auctions before the Sharks start circling.

I think he should put one cue up at a time so they don't compeate with each other. But he should let it go its course. If it goes for a low price sell it and find another way to trade or sell.
I wonder if his value and the book value are in the same ball park??? I see that a lot in Harleys.

Lucky for me I have way more money than brains, according to this site anyway. No cues have been ended. Almost every cue has already met its mark. If you want the cue BID, don't talk. This is why I'm letting my collection go.

You're letting your collection go because people think you should follow the rules of eBay?! That doesn't make any sense. Like others have said, it's not ethical to end a no reserve auction early because you don't like the way it's performing. If you choose to roll the dice and make an auction no reserve you should stand by your decision and let the auction run to completion. eBay is not an advertising service it is an auction service.

What is a snipper programs??????

There are several "Sniper" sites that allow you to set a time (usually within the last few seconds of an auction ending) for your bid to be placed by the Sniper program.

my favorite sniper program in the one that calls your telephone when there is three minutes left and will give you up to the second time left while your on the phone and let you bid next highest price or whatever amount you want.. its great for getting in those auctions with 3 seconds to go! :)

Very true.

It really pisses me off when people do this. If you don't like what the market will bring, why not just post it up with a BIN price or a reserve?

I always set a reserve. Sold 2 cues this last month on listings with Reserve, and Buy It Now! One sold within 4 hours. Both sold with Buy It Now. Guess I priced them too low! For the small increase in fees, the protection of value is very cheap!

Going to strart collecting Corvettes. There doesn't seem to be near as many whiners in that group. People are always jealous of others with money, cars, cues, whatever. Get a better job, whatever you need to do. It's not problem. If you don't like the way my auctions run, Don't bid or even watch. Only a couple of decent people on this site and they all have nice stuff. I guess it's true, you are all just jealous of everyone who made something of themselves.

IS IT APRIL FOOL'S DAY:confused: I can assure you that there are MORE than a couple of decent people on this site.
Nobody is whining--some people are questioning your issues of moral turpitude and ethics.I,for one, find your candor and honesty refreshing. You and Rose Nyland have something in common----you tell it like you see it.
Some of us have all the material possesions we want without having to endure the politics and required a$$ kissing associated with a "better" job.
There is no correlation between being decent and having "nice" stuff. Hitler wasn't decent and he had "nice" stuff.
I played the Vette collecting and show game for about 15yrs. It is rife with whinners, politics and cheaters. How much do you know about matching # motors and solid axle cars?
IMHO no one that has read your posts in this thread is jealous of you in any way.

I Am New To The Game But If You Like It And You Bid To Win (aka Be Real) You Really Have Nothing To Whine About. Cranegod Could Also Lose Out On Some Potential Sales Because The Bidder Might Have Entered A Higher Bid But If Nobody Else Bids We'll Never Know What The First Guy Was Willing To Pay.

Good ridance to you sir................................. It seems to me that you are judging people here or in life to what they are paid per week and for that i hope you sell all you have and leave here immediately............ Im for one that is not rich nor poor either and i hate to be judged by people that " think" they are better than i because of how much money they make........................................ Have fun collecting Corvettes:D

All anybody is saying is that it's a little frustrating to
be bidding on a cue & it suddenly disappears. I had a
couple of his cues in my sight recently only to see
bidding stopped. I'm not mad. Just a little hesitant to
bid again. Nothing more, nothing less. What he does
is his business.

Same thing has happened to me on two different high end cues.
Bidding is up over $3K and I am still in the mix and the cue was pulled with almost 2 days left.
The cues were relisted again a couple of days later.
I have not bid again on cues with sellers with a history of pulling their items.

Just my preference!

Most sensible post, IMHO.

I'm no angel .. I've asked for off-eBay transaction or buy it now price for cues on eBay that I really wanted. I didn't care about other buyers or whether the cue got pulled.

I've also waited until last second to bid on the cue so I can get the cue for cheap ... I've asked many times for the reserve amount so I'll know the minimum amount the seller is taking on the cue.

If a cue gets pulled ... I just shrug and look for the next one.

Jumping all over Craingod on this thread is extremely unfair ... I'm sure majority of frequent sellers on AZ have pulled auctions one time or the other.
