1980 Las Vegas 9 Ball Open

I was there...finished 9th.....Ton of champions that I had been reading about for years....didn't even get in the cash. The real players showed....Shake and Bake and Lil Al in the finals.....Still one of the greatest matches I have seen.

Shame Bill and Mike took so many great pics.....and none of me actually playing.

OMG! They're playing on barboxes!

I thought this was back in the day when pool was pure. If barboxes killed pool, they're certainly taking a long time to do it.
 
Great thread. I was there as a spectator - the first major pool event I attended. I didn't see myself in any of the photos either.
